Thanks! I tested all cars you converted (in Real Weather mode, 35 °C). All in all I like how the temps behave. I'm no expert on tires, but maybe the tires are losing temps a tiny bit too fast when the car is not moving (e.g. after a burnout). But thats really negligible.
Tested it with Tair = 273.15f + 35.0f; Temperatures with sc-kanagawa-z35gts are fine: 80-95 front, 70-75 rear, 45 °C air temperature, track: Torino. With winter temps: 55-65 front, ~35 rear, 0 °C air temperature. I'm not sure why the starting temp doesn't match the atmospheric temp In atmosphere.cpp: void SimAtmosphereConfig(tTrack *track) adds offsets to Tair depending on SimTimeOfDay and SimClouds
This is a great patch, thank you very much! So fabs() fixes the core problem, while "base cooling multiplier" enhances the simulation. I tested with Tair = track->local.airtemperature + 273.15f; Everything seemed ok, the atmospheric temperature changed randomly from event to event.
It's working now, thank you!
Anti Aliasing is not working any more
Extreme difference in tire temperature
Please close this bug report. Stars are in correct position and I was wrong.
I also noticed this behavior a while ago here on Debian with Openbox. As you mentioned...
