I've had the exact same problem with SoX 14.4.2 since it came out, so i went back to using SoX 14.4.1 which didn't exhibit this problem. the command i used: sox.exe mysound.wav -d vol 0.50 and the error: sox.exe FAIL sox: Sorry, there is no default audio device configured

I contacted Samsung support and they blew me off telling me the default camera app works fine and blamed the other 3rd party apps... HOWEVER, You sir are a man worthy of my admiration and respect! changing the API to the newer Camera2 API completely brings the shutter delay in-line with the built-in camera app! I've been using Open Camera since i found it all the way back when I had my Samsung Galaxy S4. Even though you don't ask, I'd love to throw money at you on paypal/patreon/buymeacoffee to show...
