Hello Jamil, Thank you for sharing your experience, we'll do our best to investigate the case and correct our software, if it needs any corrections, of course. Otherwise, let's hope Microsoft will fix the issue on their side. Best regards, Dmitri P.S.: I've no idea why your Android phone is doing funny things, I think the best way to deal with it is to check Google for possible explanation.

Thanks for further explanation, that's definitely an interesting idea. On Wed, Nov 6, 2019 at 3:16 PM snarfle snarfle@users.sourceforge.net wrote: I see you went right for the "adventurous" option. It's certainly the more interesting idea. I'm not sure I understand your objection to it though. If you are deleting pagefile/hiberfil/swapfile in BootExecute, you know that you're going to have room to re-create them. I mean it's not like someone else is going to swoop in and grab that space. And having...
Hello, Thank you for your suggestions. The main problem seems to be that when you delete the paging, swap and hibernation files you have to recreate them somehow afterwards. The simplest way is to use Windows API, but unless you have a single large free space gap on the disk the chances are the files will be fragmented after recreation. Also it would be possible to modify internal structures of the file system to place the files exactly where we would like to have them, but that's not safe at all....
Thank you for feedback! вс, 27 окт. 2019 г., 18:54 Jamil dryst@users.sourceforge.net: I have used every available defragmentation tool currently available today. UltraDefrag version 9.0.1 is currently the best available as far as features, capability and flexibility. No other product even comes close to what you have achieved. Congratulations for a job well done! Congratulations On Version 9.0.1 https://sourceforge.net/p/ultradefrag/discussion/709672/thread/71232c48b0/?limit=250#1b9d Sent from sourceforge.net...
Hello, As far as I know it is impossible to adjust scheduled tasks so they won't get executed if some other processes are running, so you probably have to write a special program which will run in background and check whether the processes are running or not, for instance, every second. Then, if it detects the processes are running it might stop the defragmentation using the schtasks command and maybe reschedule it using the same command afterwards. Best regards, Dmitri

I'm using the same Windows edition and I did just a few minor tweaks. Also I have disabled the user account control, but I don't think that matters.
By the way, it's just an ordinary task and there's nothing special about it at all, so it should work fine. Windows uses the SYSTEM account for many of its built-in tasks, so that shouldn't be a problem as well. So, after all, there should be something wrong with the task scheduler itself on your system...
That looks weird, man, I would suggest you to try to find out what's wrong with the task scheduler on your system. Maybe someone else experienced the same errors and already found a solution... I guess Google might know the answer ;-)
I think that might happen because by default the program waits for system idle state to start. So, if you did actively use your computer at 10:00 PM it will not start at that time and will start later on instead, as soon as the machine will stay idle for the specified amount of time (3 minutes by default). Also, if the program hadn't enough time to complete defragmentation during the idle state period the task will resume later on, within the same day, to complete the job.
Well, I have tested automatic defragmentation again on my Windows 10 machine and it worked just fine. The program started at the specified time and defragmented about 600 files in a couple of minutes. The task scheduler shows now "The operation completed successfully. (0x0)" as the last run result.
Hello Jamil, I have it running on a Windows 10 machine and it works just fine for me. Maybe I've missed some updates... will try to update the system today and we'll see what will happen. Best regards, Dmitri

Hello Florian, thank you for kind words. Everything is just fine now. I still have to fix a couple of little problems, but overall I'm doing well. Hope you're doing well too.

In the 7.1.1 release I've just fixed a few broken links but didn't change any code, so there should be a problem either with the operating system itself or your hardware. Try to search in Google for cases similar to yours, I mean when you get chkdsk at boot every time and it stops at 20% etc.

Hello, Thank you for interesting questions! The sentence "disk processing algorithms were highly optimized for speed" simply means that the new algorithms do the job much faster than the old ones. In other words, the disk processing takes much less time. Highly improved disk processing efficiency means that the program evaluates efficiency of individual disk processing passes much more precisely. While 7.1 algorithms basically do as many passes as possible, the improved algorithms automatically stop...

Sure, all the closed bugs have been resolved in UltraDefrag 7.1.0.

Optimize MFT runs out of RAM on system with 14GB ram.
I don't believe it would be possible to further reduce memory consumption, so the best way would be to install more RAM.
Hello Rob, Thank you for feedback! I have already found a way to dramatically speed up optimization and, who knows, maybe I'll find a way to reduce memory consumption as well. Anyway it would be exciting to have faster algorithms consuming less system resources. I still have a lot to do, but when everything will be done, I'll make a new release which will contain all the stuff. Best regards, Dmitri
