No

I have UltraDefrag v6.1.0, Windows 64 bit (AMD).

When I click on the Options toolbar item, Settings / Options menu or [F10] ... I get a FAIL pop-up, that says:

Cannot Edit .\options.lua

And it won't let me edit options, of course. I have two questions/issues to report.

  1. Where is the configuration file: options.lua kept so I can change it when needed.
  2. How come the F10 / edit options/ etc has stopped working?

Many thanks for your response.

The options.lua file can be found in the same folder where the graphical interface (ultradefrag.exe file) is located. It's either installation folder (like C:\Program Files\UltraDefrag) or the folder containing UltraDefrag portable edition.

I should also point out that this error persisted even after a complete reinstall

Thank you for your feedback. I hope to release a bit of time soon, fix as many bugs as possible and make a new release.

Just thought I'd mention my solution regarding the "Cannot Edit .\options.lua" error. To open options.lua the the .lua file extention needs to default notepad.exe. If it's pointing to notepad++ or there abouts you will get that error. So hope that helps.

This problem is mostly related to still using 32-bit applications when there are already 64-bit applications available.
In stall the x64 release of Notepad++ and you will not have any problems.
The restriction is the file system redirection for 32-bit applications on 64-bit Windows.
We are not able to change the behaviour of Windows and it is not practicle to change the users settings.
The best and most future-prove solution is to make people aware of the ability to prefer 64-bit appliactions on 64-bit Windows. This make sure that the file system redirection is not building any limits.
