InDesign is turning into one of the most widely used DTP tools. To translate its files, one may export them to InDesign Exchange or inx files and use Trados TagEditor. Unfortunately, this brings loads of problems because of Trados version diversity. It would be gorgeous to translate these inx with OmegaT.

Do you have sample files ? Or a technical description of the files ?

InDesign files (INX) are XML files, with the specificity that some codes ("c_" in <pcnt>) are added inside translatable text.
Until OmegaT support these files directly, it is possible to use Okapi Rainbow to convert INX files to and back an OmegaT project (using the XLIFF filter available in 1.7).

Of course, that would be great, but I have no accesss to .NET and therefore Okapi for the moment. Processing these directly through OmegaT would work better for me. I'll be patient though.

I do, and I can post them here, send them to the list or to the developers as soon as NDA are cleared.
Thank you all,

Pablo,
No need to attach the files here, just send them privately to Didier.
is a filter available now?
There has been no progress on this request.
As far as I remember, I never received test sample documents.
Didier
Following-up on this, I do have a test document.

No progress here? Indesign CS5 already have other exchange format - idml. It would be great to include inx and idml support in OmegaT - a lot of translators use them.
As a workaround, you can use Rainbow 5 (the .NET version: http://okapi.sourceforge.net/\) for INX and Rainbow 6 (the Java version: http://okapi.opentag.com/\) for IDML to create projects to be translated with OmegaT.
Okapi even provides a plugin allowing to translate IDML files directly in OmegaT:
http://www.opentag.com/okapi/wiki/index.php?title=Okapi_Filters_Plugin_for_OmegaT
So, actually, the IDML filter already exists.
