Apple's new Java package that came out today (1.4.2) breaks the
Mac OS plugin. jEdit displays the following error box on launch:
Mac OS Plugin requires a newer version of Java (MRJ 3.2).
As far as I can tell, all that is broken is the Mac OS-style
placement of the menu bar (it is now back in the default location,
at the top of the window).

It wwill not work with 4.2pre9.

Try updating to a newer version of the plugin.
