Committed rev# 21229, so the docs now are updated. I was unable to find the sourcecode for QuickNotePad in subversion so I have not made changes to that.

It is described somewhere. I remember reading about it recently.
It's in Chapter 19, Plugin Tips and Techniques., the section titled "Storing plugin data".
There should be a line
plugin.QuickNotepadPlugin.usePluginHome=true
in the code of Chap.18 / The Property File.
Apparently, the Property is also missing in the Quicknotepad props file.
