No

The 4.3pre17 release notes say "- Fixed horizontal mac scrolling with trackpad or Mighty Mouse (#2308694) (Seph Soliman)", but two-fingered horizontal motion still has no effect on my MacBook with OS 10.4.11 Intel, and I don't see any new options for trackpads or horizontal scrolling in Preferences / Mouse.

Horizontal scrolling requires you to run a newer version of Java. Perhaps even 1.6 which will not be available for 10.4 (Tiger). This is a decision Apple made and sadly not something we can backport.

What happens for you, when you scroll horisontally?

    Best regards

It works ok for me on Mac OS X 10.5.7

Nothing at all. The two-finger horizontal swipe gesture doesn't appear to be recognized, only the vertical. I always have to use the scrollbar.

I see. Thanks. I use the latest from June 15 2009 which only updated J2SE 5.0 to version 1.5.0_19.

I'm sorry, but we cannot fix this issue. It is an issue to java for mac. I can recommend upgrading OS X when Snow Leopard (10.6) is released possibly in september.

    Closing, invalid. Apple's issue.

    Best regards
