About Schoolyear
Schoolyear is exam security software that secures devices during exams. When a student starts an exam, their device automatically enters a controlled mode: unauthorized apps, screen sharing tools, and remote access software are blocked. A live dashboard shows invigilators exactly what is happening on every device, and they receive an instant alert if the secure environment is compromised.
For exams that require software like Excel, SPSS, or Python, Schoolyear runs those applications in a secure virtual environment. This means students can use the real tools they need for the exam, but cannot access personal files, cloud storage, or AI tools like Copilot inside the application.
Schoolyear works on student-owned laptops without requiring IT to manage or configure each device. It updates automatically, integrates with Canvas, Moodle, and Brightspace, and can be operated by educators without technical support.
