About Oats
Oats is an open source meeting notes app that records meetings directly on your computer without sending a bot into the call. It captures audio locally, then turns the conversation into a structured summary, action items with owners, a meeting quality score, and a searchable transcript based on what was actually said. Oats works across Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, phone calls, and in-person conversations; any audio your computer can hear can become notes. Users can run recording and AI notes entirely on-device with a local model to keep audio private, or connect an Ariso account for richer AI features. Every recorded meeting lands in a searchable library, making it possible to ask questions across meeting history and retrieve past decisions or commitments. Action items are collected in a dedicated Todos view instead of remaining buried in notes, and completing an item in the meeting notes can close it automatically.
