Macaw AMS

Pros: It took us months to settle on an MGA software vendor whom we felt would be a good fit. We hit the jackpot with Macaw! While we are more than halfway through our development software customization, the level of service & support we have received has been exceptional. I do not feel that we would have received this hands on service from any other provider. The development team is highly responsive & collaborative, and beyond patient while we had difficulty defining our workflows that fit our business rather than forcing us into a one-size-fits-all solution. Their willingness to actually listen, problem solve, and provide hands-on guidance has made the onboarding experience smooth and productive. Technology to us is very important but support and partnership are what truly differentiate vendors. We have found a true partner in Macaw. and we look forward to a long and successful partnership. Do not hesitate to reach out to them, they will not disappoint!

Cons: In case you are not aware, like I was not aware in the beginning, developing and working with a MGA software vendor is very hands on! MGA software is not out-of-the-box and you will need to put time and energy into working with your developer to customize to your workflows. This can take several months. I recommend really defining your workflows beforehand and having them ready as much as possible. I was not prepared but Macaw helped me every single step of the way.

Overall: A true partnership and I feel like I have made friends and family for life. Macaw does not disappoint.

Pros: Everything!
Macaw has turned out to be more than we hoped for.

The customization ability of Macaw and the great job Nest has done in helping us with all the customizations we have done.

Cons: Looking back, I should have spent more time test driving Macaw and thinking through our customization. The process would have been smoother, but I would have slowed down the process which would have taken longer to start using Macaw. So, it is a toss-up.

Overall: After we had been live a few months our company owner asked me are you glad you went with Macaw. I responded, "without a doubt".
Going with Macaw has revolutionized our processes.
With Macaw we are issuing policies and invoices almost real time. We do in a couple of minutes what used to take hours.
Because of Macaw we are poised to double our business without adding any new employees.

Pros: Consistent effective communication from the team working on our deliverables. Positive and timely interactions from everyone on their team.

Cons: None come to mind, this was my first experience working with this product and team.

Overall: Experience was fluid and simple to manage. I especially appreciate the follow ups, we were never uncertain of what deadline or milestone was next.

Pros: Macaw has transformed the operations of our organization resulting in an optimized service experience for our customers. The automation of our key workflows from CRM to commission accounting has improved accuracy/efficiency by removing opportunity for human error. Our team benefits from the ability to easily collaborate on our accounts using Macaw's internal tasking system. The Nest customer support team has always promptly addressed our questions and supported our development projects.

Cons: Front end reporting dashboards could be more customizable.

Overall: Macaw is a leading AMS solution because it offers immense opportunity for customization allowing your business to focus on growth knowing there is a scalable solution supporting operations.

Pros: This product is very helpful with the our team's daily operations. The development team has ben very helpful with bug fixes and enhancement to improve the product to our business needs. The product is very customizable, so they are many ways to utilize the system.

Cons: One improvement could be the timing of dashboards when we try to retrieve information. If there was a way in which the dashboard speed can be improved, that would be very helpful.

Overall: In my 2 years of using Macaw, it is one of the most customizable products I have used. Once you understand how Macaw works, it is very manageable to use. I do not believe that the learning process to use the system is that long either. The development team is very helpful with explaining how the system works, and answers any queries we have about the system. They are also able to manipulate the product to satisfy our needs, even with the most complex enhancements.

Pros: System provides greater productivity by handling documents generation, payment gateways, marketing automation and claims management.

Cons: Some customization could be limited. Also had some issue with special characters.

Overall: Macaw AMS is an efficient tool for streamlining insurance agency operations, offering a comprehensive suite of features tailored for policy management. Its user-friendly design and integrations make it ideal for modernizing workflows.

Pros: Upgrade insurance products, add new product-lines, eSignature, Online Payment gateway, OFAC check, Mass Emailing, Sales force management, AP/AR, CRM and last but not least, Macaw Explorer, a new generation BI engine - all integrated in Macaw AMS.

Cons: Domain expert and leading Insurtech for US market has got potential to serve other parts of the globe.

Overall: Great software for Insurance product and service providers like - retail brokers, managing general agencies and managing general underwriting service staffs.
