About GridCraft
GridCraft is an open-source spreadsheet application for creating, editing, calculating, and analyzing workbooks on desktop or in a browser. Its interface includes a ribbon, formula bar, and sheet tabs, with tools for formulas, dynamic arrays, tables, sorting, filtering, data validation, conditional formatting, charts, and PivotTables. It supports XLSX, CSV, and TSV workbooks, with comments, hyperlinks, print settings, and PDF output. Users can build budgets, schedules, sales summaries, and other data tables, then calculate and visualize results in a workbook. Desktop releases are available for Windows, macOS, and Linux; a WebAssembly build can be hosted on a static server. A command-line tool, JSON control channel, and Model Context Protocol server let developers and AI agents inspect, edit, calculate, and format workbooks programmatically. GridCraft is free, open-source software, and its maintainers currently describe the project as pre-alpha.
