    "Totally inadequate business "

    Pros: The tutor was lovely when teaching but no use when cancelling.
    She did not respond to any form of communication.

    Cons: Diabolical business overall.
    AI through WhatsApp.
    Then scripted humans.
    Hours of trying to speak with someone.
    Emails no better.
    All we wanted to do was cancel.
    After 2 days we managed to cancel. However, later on the 2nd day another payment was taken from my daughter's account.
    We are now still struggling to resolve the whole sorry mess.

    Avoid at all costs. All verbally and supportive to hook you in. Terrible at everything else 😔

    Overall: I am unable to use the words freely to describe the sorry shambles. 🤬

    Very nice verbal conversation with a huge reassurance that cancelling was easy and acceptable.

    In reality, it absolutely isn't!!!

    Pros: I agreed to only eight classes, but they automatically enrolled me in a year-long membership without my consent, which, according to them, cannot be canceled, and have deducted from my account without authorization, LIARS AND UNPROFESSIONAL; CUSTOMERS BEWARE !!!!!

    Cons: EVERYTHING!!!! they lied and took my money without any common decency

    Overall: This has been a terrible experience. I've never been cheated out of money like this before, and I want to warn others to prevent them from falling victim too.

    "It's SCAM"

    Pros: Beginning was good, easy access to customer service. Then, not able to communicate on WhatsApp, Email and call.

    Cons: They have very limited tutor available. I still have 41 sessions remaining in my account because could not get a tutor. But they don't reimburse it even my daughter is graduating high school now.

    Overall: Hard to contact with customer service. Takes days to receive response. Plus, they ignore matter that not convenient for them or all of them are not smart to understand claims. Even, yon find a tutor in requested time, subject, or teaching style, they don't give you money back. They just keep your money, big SCAM!

    "Terrible, Fraudaulent Stay AWAY"

    Pros: Nothing was good on this platform. They needed me to decide and pay first installment fast on Saturday evening claiming its the best offer only today and tomorrow is gone. What an old marketing cheesy trick.

    Cons: They hurried me into a 18 months subscription now or never style and promised price per lesson 20 euro. In 2 months time we realized that the price per lesson came to 40 euro - because many times our son could not attend the lesson and many times the tutor could not attend the lesson (50/50 ratio) and there was monthly money deduction irrelevant to the fact that we cannot exhaust all pre-paid lessons, unless we stop the subscriptions for several months. It was impossible to communicate with the chat support. Emails were answered after 14 days. All to stall and steal your money. At the end they threatened me that I have 18 months contract and must continue to pay even if we do not wish to take the lessons - what a joke. LOL - I read their terms and conditions and it's ridiculous - no lawyer ever wrote that. It's a scam. Do not enroll, if you did, run away and block them and cancel your subscription. It is not the fault of the teachers, but the system is rotten.

    Overall: TERRIBLE, very unprofessional, fraudulent, they even blackmailed me on the GREEK team. Just worse ever.

    "Please avoid this tutoring company"

    Pros: The only good thing that came out of it is our tutor that was assigned to conduct the lessons with our daughter.

    Cons: Please avoid this tutoring company.
    They will not cancel your subscription in timely fashion, they will ignore your emails; hey will forget to renew your credits on time despite charging you full price for them and you will have to chase them. You can’t cancel online, you have to reach out via email or WhatsApp and fill in ridiculous forms to have your contract cancelled. They are quick to charge you, but never return money for lessons that don’t go to plan due to the poor system they force you to use. As much as I appreciate the tutors who try their very best, the system and the lessons are not fit for purpose. The system that you are forced to use would often disconnect or freeze, it is clunky, and it doesn’t have the right tools to conduct online lessons. I wish I have never signed up to them- especially avoid long term subscriptions- you will loose your money.

    Overall: Very poor, they are hard to reach and they ignore your emails; always very quick to take money from your account, but never refund if the system fails. They will renew your direct debit without your knowledge and continue to charge you even if you requested a cancellation. Please avoid, you will not be able to get out!

    "Not what it promises and kept taking money from account"

    Pros: There are no pros to this company. They will not deliver the number of lessons agreed and YOU CANNOT CARRY OVER your unused lessons. Tutor books lessons when the student is meant to be in school. it is a bid marketing sales company. The is also a fraudulent intent to save people's bank card details without their knowledge.

    Cons: This company will not deliver the lessons agreed to in a month and will save your card details without telling you and help themselves to your money.
    You will not be able to speak to anyone and they will not respond to your emails.
    I have had to close the account because the bank could not stop the payment. Got a new card and they still managed to take money out.

    Overall: Stay well clear of this company. They will never respond to WhatsApp messages or emails. The only solution in stopping their payment was to either freeze the account or close down the account.

    Pros: At the beginning, we were satisfied and then had to cancel for personal reasons, then they suddenly took money from my account.

    Cons: After 3 months of cancelling my subscription they withdrew an amount from my bank account without notifying me!

    Overall: This company is a scum company, they take money from your account without notifying, please avoid at any cost.

    Pros: One tutor was good and his work content was good and he was a nice, friendly man. He was the only positive thing about this company.

    Cons: We only joined for 1 month and tutors didn't turn up, moved lessons around without notifying me. The work content was a joke I could have done a better job!

    Overall: When you want to cancel you can't contact unless you WhatsApp message them and wait 14 working days for them to get back to you which they won't as I've been waiting 15 working days now. I still haven't received a refund of my unused lessons. Customer support is rude and will cut you off.

    "Avoid at all costs"

    Pros: Web site.
    Clever business model.
    Good Marketing message.
    V quick response to inquiry.
    Initial contact from a sales perspective was promising.

    Cons: Poor quality of Tutors.
    Lack of communication.
    Useless AI BOT.
    Questionable integrity.
    Non existent customer support model.
    All about getting the money in.

    Overall: This company has no underlying support model in place and very little interest in building up a positive relationship with their customer base.
    They are anonymous when it comes to addressing issues, and in the event of an early termination of a contract, almost impossible to get refunds.
    They do not operate off U.K. legislation.
    They rely upon a very poorly developed AI driven chat BOT, and direct contact (telephone) is impossible.
    Based on our experience, the management and control over their tutors is very poor.
    I am in the process of taking legal action against this company.
    Requirement was a maths Tutor for my daughter (year 8)

    1) had a complimentary session with 1st tutor which was positive.
    2) At the end of the 2nd lesson, the Tutor advised my daughter that she was going away with her boyfriend for a 6 week holiday, but her sister could take over the sessions while she was away. Her sister was Not registered with Go Student, so we requested that she find a replacement- something she couldn’t do as she was going away the next morning!
    2) After a number of left telephone messages and conversations on WhatsApp a second tutor was assigned, and they eventually agreed not to charge for the trial session.
    3) This Tutor lasted 2 sessions.
    And cancelled lesson number 2 the day before, and lesson number 3 15 minutes before the start.
    4) When messaging with her, she told me that the company allowed them to cancel sessions with just 15 minutes notice, and thought that I was being unreasonable, expecting a longer notice period “ we tutors have a life too”.
    And then told me that she was not interested in carrying on tutoring my daughter.
    5) It took countless WhatsApp chats, emails and unreturned voice messages before I actually spoke to a representative from the company- the one and only occasion. It was agreed that the experience with the tutors was not acceptable and that my account would be closed and unused lessons credited.
    This happened over a period of a few days.
    6) in January I noticed that GoStudeng had taken another payment from my credit card for another 4 lessons.
    Contacting them this time was a complete joke as their AI BOT didn’t recognise me as an active customer.
    I have received email replies from their support team say that they will repay the unauthorised payment taken from my card but this had not happened.
    I have also requested confirmation that they have closed out the repeat card transaction- again no response.
    I have now passed the matter over to my bank/card provider.

    Pros: The tutor was great. English for a 9 years old. Online worked OK buy couldn't work on handwriting very easily.

    Cons: First off, my wife was pressure sold into signing up for 6 lessons a month, when we only needed 3. The guy on the phone told her 6 was the minimum they sold. When we phoned back to cancel our membership, they magically reduced it to 4.

    The platform has technical issues. I have no issues with Teams and Zoom chats for work, but GoStudent must not compress the video files as efficiently or something. Lessons were very continually interrupted and cut off.

    On trying to cancel our membership, I couldn't find a phone number on the website. There is a number you can WhatsApp. The guy I messaged there did his best, but could only tell me to fill out a form and someone will phone me back in up to 14 working days. Absolutely ridiculous.

    Overall: See the cons. I'd avoid this company and would not recommend to anyone. You've been warned.

    "BEWARE: HARD TO CANCEL GO STUDENT"

    Pros: Easy to set up. HARD TO CANCEL. $$$. I would say there is no pro to using this company. There are lots of others you can use. Stay a way from this one. I don't know if they are scammers or just super unorganized.

    Cons: BEWARE: HARD TO CANCEL! Go Student kept charging me cost me an extra $1000!!! Go Student may have helped my daughter in tutoring, but gives me the runaround in canceling my "so-called membership" after I paid the mandatory payments for the "package" I purchased. Couldn't find the "cancellation form" on their site anywhere. Emailed the support email multiple times over 10 month span and received a different person every time saying they couldn't find my file...but they have no problem charging my credit card every month!!! One support worker FINALLY said she found my file and was going to expedite my cancellation, only to charge my credit card for another 3 months!! Every email to them after "finding" my account, was a support worker saying they couldn't find my account. I finally had to get the credit card company involved to stop payment and block them. Then today, three months later out of the blue, they sent me another email saying... sorry we can't find your file. What the heck! Just don’t use them, not worth the pain and $!!!

    Overall: They set you up with a mandatory payment plan for your "purchased block of sessions", but then call it a membership so they can keep charging you afterward. Try finding their "cancellation form" on their site... impossible. You'd think an email would do it.... nope. "Can't find my account but can keep charging my credit card". I'm only leaving a bad review because of the terrible run around I got.

    Pros: One of the tutors was lovely and I don’t blame her for quitting. That’s it and I have to use 100 characters but I have nothing more positive to say.

    Cons: Really helpful and eager to sign you up. Once you pay that’s it. No more friendly advisors. Teachers don’t turn up. They still charge you. You will have zero lessons and you can’t get a hold of someone but you can guarantee they’ll still take your money.

    Overall: Terrible. Absolute waste of money and time. A headache. A night mare. Frustrating and annoying. Wished I had never bothered. I could have used the money on another company and my daughters maths could have improved. Instead we are a few hundred quid down and at exactly the same level as maths as we were before I even discovered this company.

    Pros: The tutor I had was good. She was understanding and she knew how to plan ahead to benefit the student.

    Cons: The tutors are very good. I was satisfied with the tutoring service that I got from them. However, I had some issue with their customer service because they were not very clear about the Package Subscription terms while I was enrolling into the program.

    Overall: This is my updated review. I got frustrated about customer service when I came to know about the Package Subscription thing. However, they understood my situation and resolved my issues. Hence, I am now happy about their customer service too.

    "Stay away from this FRAUDULENT company!!"

    Pros: My son was okay to try but he said that is not too much that they can offer. I trust him as he is one of the top students in his school.

    Cons: My son stop accessing they services this year 2022 in, but this scam company continued to charge my credit card for March, April, May and now in June again. In May I contact them and asked for a two month refund. We agreed to refund just one month. Now. looking into my credit card statement I found out that these scammers charge me again. We exchange a lot of emails and after that they continued to illegally charge my credit card. My next move would be to file a fraud claim with my financial institution and also with the police for credit card fraud. These guys are totally scammers. If you want to go through what I am going with them in the last 3 month then go for it.

    Overall: Stay away!!! Do not let them to steal you hard working money! I saw other bad reviews before we got into this "scam" but my wife insisted to go for it. I said no at that time but she just insisted for the good of our kid... and now look at me? Fighting to get my money back!

    Pros: One out of my 2 tutors are good - thats it. Nothing more to say about this company that's good.
    The rest is all bad.

    Cons: The admin is absolutely SHOCKING. I had 1 tutor who was rude to my son & its taken over 5 months and no replacement. You cant get hold of anyone - EVER. They take your money and thats it. The website is crap. There's no contact details. No one responds on the WhatsApp group.

    Overall: TERRIBLE! Never experienced such frustrating service!

    "Unprofessional, just there for the money"

    Pros: Home-based lessons, easy access to platform, there are no other pros to mention.

    Cons: Unprofessional tutors, they don't take into consideration the child's needs, little progress made, just there for the money.

    Overall: I live in the UK and will relocate to Italy with my 10 year old son who has special needs. I asked GoStudent if they were able to cater for him, especially provide a friendlier more relaxed approach. We had two initial tutors that were very structured and grammar based. So basically he took nothing from the first couple of months, although of course I was paying upfront. He then had a third tutor with which he started off well, but suddenly introduced grammar based lessons, and at his lack of reaction she became frustrated with him. She commented repeatedly to him how he would not be able to fit in an Italian school and how he would struggle. This has had a very negative impact on my son.
    The tutor in question also carried out lessons with her baby beside her, which meant it was a constant distraction, as she had to sometimes turn off the camera to tend to her child.
    GoStudent are refusing to look at any other solution other than "we'll find someone else", with my son now being completely shut down to the idea of online tutoring.
    Awful, unprofessional service. Just there for the money.
