CMM-Manager

Pros: The ease of use of this software is awesome. I previously programmed with Calypso and PC-DMIS. I was able to learn this software on my own without any formal training and it seems like they took all the good things from every other software and put them all in CMM Manager.

Cons: As our company focuses heavily on Zeiss CMMs, the lack of support for Zeiss VAST heads would be my only complaint. However working with the CMM Manager support team, this is something that they are addressing and will hopefully be available soon!

Overall: The support from the QxSoft company is second to none. If you run into any issue, they will do whatever it takes to help you get it resolved. Also the fact that this software runs on any CMM brand is awesome as companies are no longer locked into a specific brand whenever they are looking for another CMM.

Pros: 1. User-friendly interface compared to many traditional CMM software packages.

3. Great compatibility with a wide range of CMM hardware and controllers.
4. CAD import and alignment workflows are straightforward and efficient.

Cons: 1. Limited Report customization
2. GD&T Capabilities not as comprehensive as other software packages
3. The GUI is click-intensive. Some areas could benefit from a more streamlined approach.
4. Missing some advanced features compared to other software packages

Overall: In my opinion, this software is hands down the most user friendly in the market today. Overall, CMM-Manager has been a extremely reliable and versatile metrology platform for day-to-day inspection and CMM programming. It offers a good balance between usability, flexibility, and cost, making it a solid choice for both small shops and larger manufacturing environments. The software is especially strong for users who want customizable workflows and broad hardware compatibility. While there are areas that could be refined—particularly with missing some advanced features and a click intensive interface—the overall value and functionality make it a strong solution in the CMM software market.

Pros: CMM-Manager provides the most intuitive 5-axis CMM programing we have worked with.
The environment is based around an ease-of-use interface, and it allows more users to feel comfortable programming and operating the software.

Cons: Having worked with CMM-Manager for many years, anything that would be considered a con is just an opportunity for improvement and the team at QxSoft addresses these and provides software updates and improvements.

Overall: The software has been around for 25 years and provides the right mix of power and simplicity to be one of the most efficient CMM software's on the market. It's great to have a US-based software group to work with you to provide the best support in the industry.

Pros: 1.) Its interface is intuitive and easy to understand right away. 2.) The software as a whole really feels like it was made to get work done quickly and not hold me captive all day in front of the CMM 3.) CMM-M makes it easy to do complex things. 4.) The support is very responsive.

Cons: I have some small gripes, but they are trivial. Things such as default on-focus buttons and tab order in certain dialog boxes.

Overall: When I first CMM Manager in 2008 I thought was going to be some silly junky software. Was I ever wrong! At every turn, whenever I needed to perform some new complex task, CMM-M always seemed to have a tool available to help me get done what I needed to. While some software practically have you hopping up and down on your left foot while reciting the alphabet backwards in order to get work done, CMM Manager makes it easy to do complicated things quickly and easily.
