CAD users who need 2D drafting and technical drawing tools, including people creating floor plans and mechanical-part drawings. The command-line, JSON-control, and MCP interfaces also support users automating drafting tasks.
About CADCraft
CADCraft is an open-source computer-aided design and drafting application for creating and editing technical drawings. Its interface pairs a command line with a graphical drawing area and tools for 2D geometry, object snaps, layers, properties, dimensions, hatches, blocks, layouts, and plotting. The software reads and writes DXF and DWG files and exports PDF, SVG, and PNG. Users can create floor plans, mechanical part drawings, and other 2D designs, then arrange sheets with paper-space layouts and viewports. CADCraft runs as a native desktop app on Windows, macOS, and Linux, with an additional WebAssembly browser build. A command-line utility, JSON control protocol, and Model Context Protocol server support scripted drawing, inspection, and rendering. The project is under active development.
