    "Solid VOIP solution"

    Posted 2023-02-04

Pros: 3CX is very easy to use, for both the end user and the admin. Loaded with great features. The pricing structure is very affordable and more than competitive with other solutions out there. They are constantly adding updates and new features or improving on the ones they already had.

Cons: I can't really come up with any cons. It doesn't matter what system you use, there will be something that pops up from time to time along the way, but I don't really have anything negative to say about 3CX.

Overall: We have been using and installing 3CX as our sole VOIP offering for our customers for over 2 years now and are very happy with their service. They provide a solid VOIP solution, rich in features and at a great price. We've tried and worked with multiple "popular" hosted providers in the past and 3CX blows them all out of the water in my opinion. Of course there's going to be minor things along the way as with any solution, but 3CX is definitely a level above the rest.

"The best of the BEST? 3CX!"

    Posted 2023-02-04

    Pros: Easy to use.
    Reliable.
    Fast.
    Features are unreal.
    Set it and forget it.
    Chat features through a website.
Texting to land lines is awesome.
    It goes on and on.

    Cons: Doesn't make coffee.
    Will not do back rubs.
    Does not clean the house.

Overall: We have been using 3CX for years across multiple clients, sites and states. It's installed at government sites, companies and homes. It always works and is the only phone system that will not rip you off once you go with them. A+

    "Dependable, Excellent customer service "

    Edited 2023-02-04

Pros: Flexible platform, user friendly, excellent support, moderate pricing, versions just keep getting better.

Cons: Any issues that we have faced with 3CX over the years has been repaired as needed or changed in new versions.

Overall: 3CX is hands down the best bang for your buck in the IP PBX market. We have been using them for several years, and they keep improving on an already excellent product. The feature set that 3CX provides meets all of our needs and has been flexible as our business has grown. The support staff at 3CX has always been available to help solve any issues that come up. We've used 3CX since they first entered the US market and don't plan on changing.

    "Robust and Feature Packed PBX"

    Posted 2023-02-03

Pros: Incredibly user friendly with standard features normally hidden behind paywalls or add-on modules.
Ability to allow users to manage their own extension settings and desk phone(s) to their liking along with time of day rules and routing allow admins to focus on the running of the system instead of the headaches of user management.

Cons: Customization is rather limited and the system does pitch quite a fit if you make changes outside of those in the webgui or use a non 3CX suggested trunk.
3CX also doesn't like when you make changes to the built in phone templates and will even disqualify you from getting support if you do use a custom template, even if based on a 3CX supplied template.

Overall: Over all the 3CX phone system is a fantastic unified communications system for organizations large and small. 3CX provides high end features as standard and is very easy to use and manage.

    "3CX is Powerful and Solid!"

    Posted 2023-02-03

Pros: Small offices can get started with NO licensing costs! But, even so, the cost of licensing for larger systems is very reasonable when you break it down 'per phone'.

Cons: The push to use 3CX Hosted feels forced and not all resellers prefer that route. Managing extensions can sometimes be a pain.

Overall: 3CX has been a powerful VoIP solution for us and our clients. Most of us love the fact that we can utilize the soft phone on smartphones and on computers, which makes the hybrid approach (in office and work from home) so much easier.

    "Versatile and Feature-Rich Phone System"

    Posted 2023-02-03

Pros: 3CX incorporates every feature you'd need to provide to businesses a way to facilitate a fantastic customer experience. We love the call queues so that customers don't have to endlessly hunt for an employee. The advanced database integration is mostly unheard of these days. Easy phone and trunk configuration make it a breeze to rollout.

Cons: There is only one thing I can think of, but it's intentionally designed this way, is if an agent is part of a call queue, they don't get a "call waiting" signal. This only affects very small businesses that don't have more people in their call queues. The easy workaround is creating a second extension for "overflow" calls so they can still see the call coming in.

Overall: Overall, 3CX has been an absolutely fantastic system to work with. This is why we ONLY recommend 3CX.

    Pros: Easy to manage.
Lot's of administrative tasks are automated like renewing SSL certs.
    Flexible for most businesses.

Cons: STUN provisioning can be tricky but they recommend using their SBC (Session border controller).

Overall: Overall good experience for both users and admins.
Lots of good features compared with the competition.

"3CX Phone system full of bells & whistles & no hype "

    Posted 2023-02-03

    Pros: Never pay per extension.
    Most innovative IP-PBX around.
Scales up & down - easy to install & maintain.
    Answer calls from anywhere.
    Audio/video calls from you mobile.
All these feature for a meagre annual license price.

Cons: Works out of the box and easy to maintain - that could be a con for 3CX partners.

Overall: The engineers who wrote 3CX phone system probably understand the user experience better than other vendors. The software are most stable - best experience since Microsoft Windows 3.1.

Pros: Easy to configure and manage.
Stability is key and 3CX doesn't fall short.
SBC management and configuration is a breeze, people without knowledge can build their PBX easy.

Cons: I haven't find a Con, I have even been able to configure IPTTY phones registering them even when its not a out of the box supported model.

Overall: People really need to try 3CX the new features are amazing and not even the biggest PBX can compete with price, easy to configure and management, this can reduce your IT cost by 40%.

    "Great product for VOIP"

    Posted 2023-02-03

Pros: 3CX has an easy to use interface, make setting up new accounts quick, and integrates with a number of SIP providers.

Cons: There are a couple missing features which could make the platform better. Having the ability to receive text messages on the same number seams to be a common feature among competitors, but requires workarounds in 3CX.

Overall: Overall and great value for the cost. The fast set up, hosted experience make it a synch to configure and deploy.

    "Mixed Bag"

    Posted 2023-02-03

    Pros: Easy to install.
    Easy to configure.
    Works well.
    Backs-up well.

Cons: No free support even when the problem is 3CX's fault.
3CX doesn't take security flaws seriously. When confronted, they try to sell their Hosting service as a fix-all.

Overall: Product works great, but I had to use my own ingenuity to solve issues. Early upgrades used to break one or two settings every time. I would delay upgrades till everything settled down. That has stabilized. But lately I've had some security breaches. 3CX seems deaf to security flaws.

    "3CX Review"

    Edited 2023-02-03

Pros: - Easy SIP Trunk set up
    - SMS/MMS features and flexibility
    - Complete user guides and extensive blog activity
    - Feature requests allowed by partners
    - Great option for all businesses from a small car wash all the way up to a enterprise call center

Cons: - Version 18, Build 6 has some things configurable from the Admin Console and some things that need to be configured through the web app. This is unfortunate. All settings should be available in the Admin Console
    - Version 18, Build 6 has major changes in terms of SMS routing. Any customer that we update to this version will need extensive SMS reconfiguration. Having said this, the new way that SMS routing is configured in the same inbound rule for phone calls is much more efficient. This provides a more efficient setup for new customers, however a difficult update for existing customers.

Overall: The Maynard Group is your ready and capable 3CX partner. We can provide, customize, manage and support your new business phone system. We have competitive pricing, excellent customer service. Please contact us at www.themaynardgroup.com

Overall 3cx is a great cloud PBX suitable for any business (or home). Features are extensive and anything left out can be achieved by 3rd party integrations utilizing APIs. There are many custom configuration options such as custom SIP trunks and custom phone auto provisioning templates. Feature updates, phone firmware updates and bug fixes come often.

"Full featured yet inexpensive business phone system"

    Posted 2023-02-03

Pros: Ease of setup, and maintenance, works well. Rock solid system, and the upgrades are released about one per year and are very easy to install. Simple but reliable backup system, and straight forward management.

Cons: Very little I don't like, all and all an excellent system. They could expand the support for SIP TRUNK Carriers, and stabilize the carrier list. Carriers seem to come and go a little.

Overall: Stays up, very little downtime, and easy to upgrade and they are always working on improving the system so upgrades are about one per year.

"Long running system with constant updates. Best bang for the buck"

    Edited 2023-02-04

Pros: Due to the simple setup, we can use 3CX with almost all of our clients, receiving useful information into both the total number of inquiries they received and the sales those inquiries generated. The software is top-notch and has a wonderful user interface. I can notice the quality here because I've been a software engineer for almost 30 years.

Cons: Sometimes features disappear between versions. You typically expect more and not dropping features. The licensing scheme changes every 18 months or so which makes it aggravating to figure out. 1 minute you own it, and the next your paying yearly making it hard to pitch the budget to C levels. The approved list of SIP trunk providers goes up and down. The recommendation of using custom extensions and then saying you are not supported is a bit aggravating. The support site needs better versioning organization. Nothing worse than finding a solution that doesn't work on your version.

Overall: It is the best system I have tried out there coming from the ATT/Lucent/Avaya platforms to Shoretel/Mitel. The cost of entry is very low and the system is easy to manage. The automated backups is a major plus and the ability to work on Windows or Linux makes 3CX very versatile.

    "Solid Services"

    Posted 2023-02-03

Pros: Excellent Phone solution at a reasonable price point. Have been running virtual helpdesk on 3CX for 3+ years without an issue. Perfect solution that allowed MSP to seamlessly migrate to a work-from-home environment during COVID pandemic and we continue to leverage 3CX in today's hybrid work environment.

Cons: As with most IP Telephony systems, your phone hardware choices may be a bit limited. However, majority of client base has migrated to wireless headsets to avoid cost of moving from legacy on-premise or costly IP Telephony solutions.

Overall: A perfect solution for any client. Installation and setup is relatively straight forward with ongoing service and availability being rock solid. Additionally, training and certifying your technical teams will no cost you an arm and a leg as with most traditional telephony solutions.

"Excellent Phone System! Haven't Looked Back."

    Posted 2023-02-03

Pros: Super easy to setup and roll out. We are a reseller so of course I would say that, right? We also sell a few other phone systems as well, but this is our go-to unless for some reason it doesn't offer what a client wants, which is pretty much never.

Support is pretty awesome as well. When needed they are always polite, respectful, helpful and responsive. They need a Wireshark capture? It’s built into 3CX.

    Reporting is granular and awesome.

Is your 10-20 year old phone system sitting in a wiring closet with the rest of your network equipment? What happens when your power goes out or you have network issues? Well if you had 3CX in the cloud nothing. You can use the cell app the accept calls. You/reception can grab a hotspot, connect a laptop./desktop to it and still administer the phone system and take calls.

The cell app is also great because no longer do you have to essentially give up your cell number to a client's caller ID when calling them. Use the 3CX app and for all they know you are sitting at your desk listening to a relaxing 90's nature CD when you are actually sitting on the beach.

Pricing model is excellent. You don't have to buy specific, proprietary phones that will only work with the specific phone system/vendor for $500 each. You have a large list of phones that you can even get off of Amazon that will have a low price tag. A wonderful Fanvil X6U phone that is fully featured can be had for less than half and even cheaper if you don't need the bells and whistles. Granted they have other phonons as well, but 3CX works directly with Fanvil so they are the a bit quicker on the uptake if there are issues. However There ar a BUNCH of phone out there so 3CX and only support so many. You can find out which ones, here: https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/

Oh, but you don't even NEED desk phones. You can go 100% desktop app and cell phone. So no need to drop hundreds or thousands on physical phones. BUT use USB headsets. Windows and Bluetooth likes disconnect or up and stop working and that not anything 3CX can fix. Cheap $115-20 USB headsets and your off to the races. If you have a receptionist though I ALWAYS recommend spending a little extra and buying them a a great desk phone with a side car. It a major part if their job, so spend the extra on a great tool to do their job.

Cons: Major Con - Users get a cell app. The app works great. The feedback from every client seems to be, I don't want my cell app to ring while I am in the office when my desk phone rings. Not one client likes that aspect. For instance: If I have 3CX loaded on my tablet, my work cell, my personal cell and my desktop, and also have a physical desk phone; When someone calls, they ALL RING. There should be options for a presence that means only your desk phone will ring OR you can select which specific registered devices that will ring when in said presence. That's pretty much the only con I can think of.

Overall: Your old phone system is a dinosaur and you're sick of calling that one guy that knows how to fix it.

    Posted 2023-02-03

    Pros: Intuitive user interface.
    Plethora of deployment options.
    Variety of compatible hardware.
    Excellent service support.

Cons: Needs Site-2-Site Interlinking (ie. 3CX VPN).
SBC software is kludgy (likely deprecated).
Push for Cloud is too strong. (I like self-hosted control).

Overall: If you're looking for a self-hosted platform that serves any sized business, this is certainly the solution. It provides an excellent array of deployment options and the management dashboard is very intuitive and easy to manage. My preference is the Linux-based self-hosted server. Lightweight, yet incredibly powerful.

"Many to choose from - this is the best"

    Posted 2023-02-03

Pros: 3CX is simple to setup and provision phones. In-built call queues are a snap to setup. Wide range of supported phones.
ROCK solid - always on and just works.

Cons: Wish it had some more customizability like Asterisk. But not a showstopper.
Comes with some features that are poorly trying to compete in a crowded marketplace - i.e. video conference and conference bridges are lacking compared to like features you probably already use with products rhyming with "reems" or "loom".

Overall: Turnkey system that you can get running in a matter of minutes and will stay running for years without fault.
