About

Pixtel is an all-in-one screen capture and management software for Windows, combining capture, annotation, and sharing in a single tabbed interface. Built for developers, QA engineers, product managers, and technical writers, Pixtel eliminates the need to juggle multiple tools. Capture: Choose from 12 capture modes — region, fullscreen, active window, scrolling, timed, continuous, camera snapshot, screen/camera recording, clipboard, repeat, OCR text extraction, and web clip. Annotate: A unique Virtual Canvas lets you place text, shapes, callouts, arrows, sticky notes, and 20,000+ vector icons anywhere on or beyond the image — fully editable, non-destructively. Manage: Organize screenshots with categories, tags, and auto-detected metadata. Multi-tab interface, grid view, visual bookmarking, bulk import/export, and a usage dashboard keep collections under control. Direct integrations with Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, Jira, MS Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and email.

About

ScreenRec is a free screen recorder for Windows, Linux, and Mac that lets you capture your screen, webcam, microphone, and system audio in one place. It is useful for tutorials, training, product demos, customer support, remote work, online teaching, software walkthroughs, and everyday business communication. ScreenRec also offers free cloud storage, no watermark, and no recording time limit, making it practical for both short video messages and longer instructional recordings. After each recording, it generates a unique sharing link, so you can send videos instantly without manually uploading large files. Users can also capture screenshots, create visual explanations, and share content privately with coworkers, clients, students, or customers. Its simple interface helps reduce the time spent on lengthy emails and unnecessary meetings by allowing users to show processes, explain problems, and provide feedback directly on screen.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • This feature combines screenshot capture, screen recording, OCR, annotations, and file management in a single application. Offers a "Virtual Canvas" that allows editing beyond image boundaries, useful for documentation and bug reporting. Supports sharing to services such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Jira, and Microsoft Office.
  • Built-in annotation tools (arrows, highlights, text, shapes, blur, etc.) make it easy to explain issues clearly. Auto-save and auto-upload options streamline the workflow and eliminate manual steps. Jira ticket creation directly from the tool helps report bugs quickly with screenshots attached. Saves time for QA, developers, and support teams by integrating capture, annotation, upload, and issue tracking in one place.
  • As a developer or QA working in Scrum cycle, we deal with lot of Jira ticket creation or updation where we will attach relevant screenshots. The Jira integration allows me to quickly capture, annotate, and attach screenshots directly to tickets without switching between multiple tools. It simplifies sharing technical context, improves communication with QA and other team members, and helps speed up issue resolution.
  • Comprehensive screen capture capabilities Rich annotation and editing tools Easy organization and management of captures Useful sharing and integration options Clean and user-friendly interface
  • It helps me provide clear visual explanations, reducing back-and-forth communication and saving time. The platform is reliable, easy to navigate, and consistently helps me stay productive throughout the day.

Cons

  • Pixtel gives good experience, and everything has been working fine so far. I haven't experienced any issues.
  • No drawbacks as of now. Haven't encountered any issues yet.
  • As technology moves forward feature requirement becomes more. I am happy with the current stack
  • Have not experienced any problems worth mentioning.
  • As of now I do not see any issues. It is able to full fill my daily needs.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • When I’m preparing software award submissions, I have to gather the product examples I need, and ScreenRec helps me do that. If you want to explain a feature to someone outside the company, you need to know more than just the name and purpose of the feature. I want to demonstrate to a customer what they can do with it, and when I record it, I have a reference point for when I’m writing. I can record a series of events in our demo account and narrate them with the microphone. For example, I can use the reporting feature to demonstrate to a user how they can get to the information they need and why those steps are important. Sharing the recording link with product colleagues also gives them a convenient way to check my interpretation before it appears in the entry. I like the simplicity of the capture process the most. I can concentrate on the example rather than spending a lot of time preparing the recording. It is also convenient not to have a watermark when putting together supporting materials that must clearly present our software.
  • When I have to explain a task that requires multiple clicks, menu selections or settings, ScreenRec has been a great help. Details that can be easily overlooked in a written guide can be captured in a quick recording, eliminating the possibility of confusion. I also enjoy talking through what I’m doing as I record. It keeps the explanation natural and makes it easier to indicate why one option is important rather than just where to click. After recording, it is much easier to share a link to the recording than a large video file.
  • When a written message doesn’t provide enough context, ScreenRec is helpful. When I explain a problem, I find that showing people the actual screen makes it much easier for them to understand the feedback. It’s fast to record, and I can add microphone audio or webcam when necessary. I also appreciate that recordings can be shared via a private link, rather than having to save a large file and upload it separately. Another handy feature is the built-in screenshot option. If it’s a small problem, I can take a screenshot of a specific part of the screen, add a simple note, and send that instead of making a video.
  • I am a labor trainer in the real estate industry and frequently have to give instructions to employees who can be at various properties or working at different times of the day. I can use ScreenRec to produce straightforward visual training content without having to explain the same thing over and over again. I use it to document property management systems, maintenance reporting procedures, safety protocols, work order processes, and other computer-based tasks that employees must be aware of. It is easier to follow the instructions than to follow written notes because it allows the screen to be recorded while talking. The private sharing links are particularly helpful as I can send a training video directly to the people that need it. I also appreciate that ScreenRec doesn’t include a watermark, so the recordings appear clean and professional when utilized within the organization.
  • As a network administrator, I frequently have to work with network changes that can't be explained in words alone. ScreenRec provides me with an easy tool to record what I am doing as I explain the "why" of each action. It's helpful when configuring firewall policies, VPNs, routing, monitoring, and other network settings. I can record the entire sequence and provide the viewer with the context they need, rather than sending multiple screenshots and having to describe the sequence separately. I like the option of sharing recordings with a private link as well. This makes it simple to share technical explanations with colleagues without having to transfer big video files. Cloud storage also comes in handy when I want to store some recordings for future reference.

Cons

  • The need to register an account before being able to record for unlimited time is a minor hassle. Registration is free and only has to be done once, but I would like to have unrestricted recording from the start. It matters more when I’m recording an internal product demonstration. It’s not as much of an issue for the short examples I typically record.
  • I would like to see more practical controls for organizing older recordings as the library grows. Other than that, ScreenRec has proved itself to be a reliable tool for turning complex on-screen tasks into easily understandable explanations.
  • I would still like to see more advanced editing controls, but ScreenRec does a great job of screen recording and visual communication.
  • I would like to see more editing options for training videos, particularly if I want to cut out a minor error or highlight a significant portion of the screen.
  • I am not aware of any cons about this application.
