Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros As small landlords who have been using Pay Your Rent for a year and a half, this has given us just the ticket to save us the headaches and time we were looking for at a very low cost. When we need answers or help, they're professional, fast and efficient in providing it. We also don't have to charge our renters an arm and a leg and PYR gives them the control and options they want! Zero complaints from our renters! The previous review from two years ago is outdated, we highly recommend!!! This is one of the very few companies that will report rent payments to the credit bureaus AND will work with small landlords who have as few as 1-2 apartments. The website does explain what to expect for processing times and fees. I wish it explained up front that landlords must send them a copy of the DEED to prove they own the property. Thats a bit absurd and causes long delays in setting up account. Nobody has their DEED handy. and there are other ways to prove ownership, such as property tax bills and records from the city, and/or mortgage records. Cons Getting set up took a little more effort than I liked but it has proven to be well worth it. The intake process for both landlords and tenants is unreasonably complicated and fraught with tech hurdles. Cant proceed to step 2 of data entry until the pope has blessed step 1, that kind of thing. They should just take all the intake data for both landlord and tenant accounts at once and then get back to either party if something doesn't look right,	Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros Rentec Direct's accounting dashboard was pretty neat. I love the Tenant and owner portals and online payment options. I love how I can list properties for rent right through the program. I also love how I can get help 24/7 at no cost. It gives you most of what you need, without the large cost of other online cloud based software. I found the software easy to use, but I have previous experience with this type of program, they all have their quirks. Reports are easy to configure, by date and property. Cons There were some occasional glitches, nothing biggy but it can delete the entries and it can be cumbersome. I wish that I could separate the tenants by properties on the tenant page, I do not like how it blends all of them together. The tax information could be better, again for the price it is fine. I do wish when you needed a report the information didn't have to be put in each time. Also wish when you put in an expense from a previous month the program would stay in the month you were in, not go to the current date.
