Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Great user interface. can rearrange tasks, group them, tag them, add sub tasks, print them, export them, add notes, and even add documents.
  • I started using To Do when it was Wunderlist, probably around 6 years ago. This app is incredible, and the acquisition / rebrand to Microsoft hasn't changed anything. The app is so simple and user friendly, but you can also use it for more complex things. You can choose to simply write a 'To do' for yourself, or you could also add sub-tasks underneath, add a due date, a reminder, add a ton of notes including links, assign it to another person, etc. In my personal life, I use To Do to organize my grocery list – my partner and I share the list, and will go to different parts of the the grocery store and will see when an item on the grocery list has been checked off in real time. I use To Do even more for work, where I organize all of the tasks I have to do, big or small. I've figured out a great way to utilize the folders and other features that works for me, but it will work differently for everyone.
  • • Microsoft To do provides to plan and work a more systematic way. • Microsoft suite integrations make it more powerful. • Intuitive platform. Best organizer and reminder for tasks.
  • It offers a simple tool to add a daily task to balance workload and time. The reminders are auto synchronized helps get notified on multi-devices. Application is available on multi-platforms.
  • Very easy and convenient to add reminders. Helps to make daily task to implement in routine. It also has notes features to never forget to do work. The reminder sync makes it save on cloud and easy to access on other devices.

Cons

  • When reading the notes for a task, if I switch to another app then come back to the task, I am always brought up to the top of the note. A little frustrating when I am copy-pasting or reading.
  • You need a Microsoft account to use the app which can be annoying. I also live in fear that this will someday charge for use (right now I have the free version). This isn't going to do everything for you – if you're struggling with staying organized with a mounting list of things to do, I'd suggest reading up on best practices first (there are tons of books out there), but To Do is the perfect tool to complement that and keep all of your tasks in one place.
  • • We had an overall positive experience with it.
  • I worked great for me. Nothing to share about cons.
  • No email reminder feature. Otherwise it's a very useful app to organize and add tasks.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I love how simple it is to use it and that I can use it on my work computer, personal computer or on my phone. I easily and quickly note all the information I need to review, remember, or reference.
  • I like the basic premise of infinitely embedded bullet points. The interface is fast and easy to use. Backlinks and mirrors to notes somewhere else in the system were a game changer that let me get a lot more out of the tool. I also love that I can sort by hashtag and that you can toggle completed bullets on and off.
  • Really easy to use, really fast, and has been increasing in what it can do over the years. I use it for all my main notes, lists, projects, etc.
  • - Minimalism - Infinite depth - Text-centred approach - No distractions - The way it allows users to laser-focus on a particular node - Reliability - My document is very large, and the app handles it perfectly - It's very good for software developers, musicians, writers, scientists, entrepreneurs and other creative people
  • Simple yet powerful, with unbeatable ease of use. Nothing else is needed to manage your tasks or archive your knowledge.

Cons

  • Occasionally the search bar doesn't allow you to enter a space between words, but a refresh of the page fixes this. Other than that, it works great!
  • Since I’ve been a user for a long time and haven’t kept up with the updates I don’t know if I’m getting everything I could out of the tool. The iphone interface makes it a little bit difficult to drag and drop bullets and I don’t think you can multi select on the phone, so I tend to use the phone to take notes and addd info but the desktop app or webpage to organize things.
  • I worry sometimes that the app is starting to move too much in the direction of Notion or others and will sacrifice speed and ease of use by doing so. But still great so far!
  • The mobile version is a bit less convenient. But it's a minor issue.
  • I can't find any, I've been using the tool for 8 years almost daily and I'm totally satisfied.
