About

PowerShell is a cross-platform task automation and configuration management framework, consisting of a command-line shell and scripting language. Unlike most shells, which accept and return text, PowerShell is built on top of the .NET Common Language Runtime (CLR), and accepts and returns .NET objects. This fundamental change brings entirely new tools and methods for automation. Unlike traditional command-line interfaces, PowerShell cmdlets are designed to deal with objects. An object is structured information that is more than just the string of characters appearing on the screen. Command output always carries extra information that you can use if you need it. If you've used text-processing tools to process data in the past, you'll find that they behave differently when used in PowerShell. In most cases, you don't need text-processing tools to extract specific information. You directly access portions of the data using standard PowerShell object syntax.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Starting from CloudBerry Backup it is easy to configure our backups in the cloud so that they can be adapted to other software or platforms. In fact, within CloudBerry Backup we get full control of our ability to save backups to other sites, and the quality and speed that these backups will have.
  • The nice thing about this application is that compared to others it does not go through a constant loss of license validity and updates that limit new features. Its cost is more affordable than others and it has other pricing packages that have adapted a lot to our budget. In addition, it is the best option for use among many others in terms of storage capacity and affordable costs.
  • Because CloudBerry Backup is so innovative when it comes to managing different versions of the same file, it is possible to create virtually infinite copies without it being confusing or complicated to access them in a row. CloudBerry Backup has good compression capabilities, so exporting Zip files is fast.
  • MSP360 allows compressing and backup process. It supports almost every storage options, like google cloud, Microsoft azure. Every cloud files are encrypted. The file recovery process is very straightforward.

Cons

  • CloudBerry Backup does not allow us to make backups to run at the same time, which leads to working with one backup at a time. This may depend directly on the number of external hard drives being used on the same computer. We do not recommend sending copies from one backup to another, to avoid errors and losses.
  • The application offers a cloud storage limit of 1TB in all its paid versions except the most expensive one. For us as a company, the 1TB extension is not large enough for us as we deal with daily files with weights around 2GB in total, which has led us to points where we have to delete information or migrate to another platform.
  • There is a big problem with CloudBerry Backup when you have to work with multimedia material, and that is that, if you are uploading the material to the cloud, the uploads usually have seemingly random pauses when leaving CloudBerry Backup in the background, which complicates a bit the management if you are carrying out other tasks, forcing you to stay within the platform.
  • I didn't found any cons with MSP360. It works extremely well what it says.
