About

ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus is an automated patch management solution that scans, tests, and deploys patches across Windows, macOS, Linux, and 1,100+ third-party applications from a single console. Automated deployment policies eliminate manual patching effort while test-and-approve workflows validate stability in pilot groups before organization-wide rollout. Granular policy controls customize schedules, maintenance windows, and reboot behaviors per device group, ensuring every endpoint updates on its own operational terms. Work-from-home and roaming devices patch seamlessly over the internet without VPN dependency, and bandwidth optimization ensures deployments never disrupt business operations. Automated rollback restores affected endpoints when deployments fail, while real-time compliance dashboards mapped to HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and GDPR give leadership instant visibility into patch status. Available as cloud or on-premises for organizations of every size.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Starting from CloudBerry Backup it is easy to configure our backups in the cloud so that they can be adapted to other software or platforms. In fact, within CloudBerry Backup we get full control of our ability to save backups to other sites, and the quality and speed that these backups will have.
  • The nice thing about this application is that compared to others it does not go through a constant loss of license validity and updates that limit new features. Its cost is more affordable than others and it has other pricing packages that have adapted a lot to our budget. In addition, it is the best option for use among many others in terms of storage capacity and affordable costs.
  • Because CloudBerry Backup is so innovative when it comes to managing different versions of the same file, it is possible to create virtually infinite copies without it being confusing or complicated to access them in a row. CloudBerry Backup has good compression capabilities, so exporting Zip files is fast.
  • MSP360 allows compressing and backup process. It supports almost every storage options, like google cloud, Microsoft azure. Every cloud files are encrypted. The file recovery process is very straightforward.

Cons

  • CloudBerry Backup does not allow us to make backups to run at the same time, which leads to working with one backup at a time. This may depend directly on the number of external hard drives being used on the same computer. We do not recommend sending copies from one backup to another, to avoid errors and losses.
  • The application offers a cloud storage limit of 1TB in all its paid versions except the most expensive one. For us as a company, the 1TB extension is not large enough for us as we deal with daily files with weights around 2GB in total, which has led us to points where we have to delete information or migrate to another platform.
  • There is a big problem with CloudBerry Backup when you have to work with multimedia material, and that is that, if you are uploading the material to the cloud, the uploads usually have seemingly random pauses when leaving CloudBerry Backup in the background, which complicates a bit the management if you are carrying out other tasks, forcing you to stay within the platform.
  • I didn't found any cons with MSP360. It works extremely well what it says.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus has many advantages that make patch management easy and efficient for IT teams. It automates the complete patching process—from scanning and detecting missing updates to testing and deploying them—so you don’t have to do manual work. It supports multiple platforms like Windows, macOS, Linux, and even third-party applications, which is very helpful in real environments. The tool also improves security by quickly fixing vulnerabilities and keeping systems up to date.
  • ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus automates patch deployment across Windows, macOS, and Linux systems, as well as third-party applications like browsers and common productivity tools. It supports both on-prem and remote devices, making it effective for distributed networks. The scheduling engine, patch approval workflows, and rollback options reduce manual effort and help maintain security hygiene. Built-in reporting for patch compliance and vulnerabilities aligns well with audit requirements and simplifies compliance management. Integration with Active Directory and easy grouping of endpoints further streamline deployment operations.
  • Patch Manager Plus automates patching for Windows, macOS, Linux, and third-party applications. Supports testing, approval workflows, and scheduling to avoid business disruption. Provides detailed reports, compliance tracking, and vulnerability insights. User-friendly interface simplifies large-scale patch deployment.
  • Makes downloading and installing patches very simple and straightforward. The customer service offered by ManageEngine is also really good. Works great for both our Windows and Mac workstations.

Cons

  • ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus has some limitations that users should consider. The user interface may feel slightly confusing or not very modern, making navigation difficult for new users. Sometimes patches fail to install properly, and the error details are not always clear, which makes troubleshooting harder.
  • Getting initial patch policies and deployment groups configured can take some upfront planning, especially in complex environments. Alerting and notifications sometimes require tuning to avoid noise. Customizing reports beyond the built-in templates is limited and may not meet all reporting needs out-of-the-box.
  • Some advanced reporting and automation features are available only in the enterprise edition. Limited offline patching support for isolated networks. Third-party application patch support may vary based on vendor updates.
  • We've had a patch come a day late before, but other than than nothing we're concerned about. We're quite happy with the product and service so far.
