Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I like the way that the learning paths are structured, providing guidance to the self learning process.
  • Short courses are available for an overview of the concept. Various courses are available to acquire new skills. The courses are updated regularly.
  • A part of the LinkedIn ecosystem. Easy to complete courses. Soft skills for management and other non technical fields. Encouraged by companies.
  • Huge amount of content - technical as well as soft skills Works from within the LinkedIn platform Provides certifications on course completion Self paced learning Practice from within the site - Code editor
  • (+) Lots of content is available on Linkedin learning. (+) Quality of learning and training. (+) Certification on completion. (+) Easy to use and a great platform. (+) One can ask questions and get real-time solutions.

Cons

  • Some content is dated and should be updated to account for recent trends in their fields.
  • Subtitles are not available in a different language. Sometimes the course is very basic and does not meet requirements.
  • I couldn't find many advanced courses for professionals. Expensive for personal use.
  • Currently certifications are provided by LinkedIn itself, It should include certifications provided by other established organisations like Oracle, Cisco, Microsoft, Amazon as well to encourage a better engagement.
  • (-) Too much content on the same topics can be a bit hard to choose which is best for you. (-) The platform gets stuck sometimes. (-) There is no option to get live class/session with instructors (-) The pricing model can be changed to cost per course instead of a monthly subscription.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • - The courses are entertaining, easy to watch as there are categorized in modules and intuitive. - It has various master classes available on the platform on multiple topics that helps in learning a new skill or practise the already learnt one. - The annual subscription price of the platform quite affordable. - It has a free one-month trial.
  • 1. Skillshare helps in new skills by some of the most successful people of those particular fields. 2. There is only one time subscription fee by which the users can access all the courses listed on the application. 3. The courses are designed in a way that videos are short and concise, so the user can learn on the go. 4. The user interface of the application is modern and intuitive. 5. The fee is very nominal and affordable for every individual.
  • - Skillshare is a learning platform that provides courses that are comprehensive and brief. - There is a wide category of courses available to choose from for the users. - The payment model is subscription based, so the users only have to pay a one time fee to access all the content.
  • - Skillshare has various classes crafted especially by experts in a simplistic way that masses can understand. - All courses can be accessed with single subscription. - The course's difficulty progresses in an ascending so that the user can grasp the content efficiently. - The subscription model is affordable and overall value for money.
  • For a monthly subscription you have access to videos that teach you generals or specifics to a certain skill. A service like this is only as good as the uploaded videos, which so far have been of good quality.

Cons

  • - The quality of all the courses are not equally good, some are great, but some are just waste of time.
  • 1. The customer support is hard to reach out. 2. There are limited number of courses.
  • - The course library is not that big if we compare it with the alternatives.
  • - The only con of the platform is that there are not a lot of courses available on all topics compared to other alternatives, but it is fairly a new platform and courses might increase in the future.
  • Some of the user interface, such as history and queue, could be improved. A Roku/streaming channel would be a GREAT addition.
