About

June is the private way to use AI on your desktop, bringing an agent, voice dictation, and automated meeting notes into a single private workspace on your Mac. Local by default and routed through privacy-preserving AI, June is built for everyday life and work; ask questions, do research, brainstorm ideas, build a plan, compare sensitive documents, draft personal notes, find renewal terms in contracts, summarize recordings, rewrite reviews, pull totals from statements, or extract dates from PDFs. Its chat experience lets users ask June anything while keeping files, sessions, memory, and state on the device by default. Voice turns speech into polished writing in any app on the computer through a keyboard shortcut, making it useful for emails, notes, messages, and longer drafts without typing. Meetings can be captured without a bot joining the call, with notes, transcription, decisions, action items, risks, context, and summaries created directly from supported meetings.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Wispr Flow is surprisingly useful from a developer’s point of view because it makes it way easier to get thoughts out quickly without breaking focus. I can talk through a prompt, describe a bug, draft a README section, write a commit message, or explain what I want an AI coding agent to do much faster than I can type it. The biggest win is that it understands developer language better than normal dictation. Project names, tools, APIs, frameworks, and weird technical terms are usually where voice typing falls apart, so the personal dictionary and developer-focused vocabulary make a real difference. I also like that it works across apps instead of being locked into one editor. Being able to use it in ChatGPT, Claude, Slack, docs, email, and coding tools makes it feel like a system-wide productivity layer, not just a standalone transcription app. The AI cleanup is great too. It removes filler words, handles corrections while I’m speaking, formats text, and turns rambling thoughts into something cleaner. For developers using AI agents, that is huge because better prompts usually mean better output.

Cons

  • Wispr Flow is not perfect if you work in a noisy space or feel awkward talking to your computer. Voice-first workflows are powerful, but they are not always ideal in an office, around family, or in shared environments. It also will not replace careful typing for everything. For actual code, I would still want to review syntax, formatting, and exact symbols closely. Voice is amazing for prompts, comments, docs, tickets, and planning, but precise code editing still needs a developer’s eye. The price may also be a consideration. There are cheaper or open-source dictation options, so the value really depends on whether Wispr’s polish, app coverage, vocabulary learning, and AI cleanup save you enough time.
