About

HostTracker is a 24/7 website monitoring service that helps businesses and webmasters track availability, performance and security from over 300 global locations. With 13 monitor types, you can check HTTP/S, ping, TCP ports, transactions, web content, APIs, page speed, databases, server resources, SSL and domain expiry, plus Web Risk and DNS blacklist status. Track response times and page load speeds, receive scheduled reports, and get alerts via email, SMS, voice call, Telegram, Slack, Viber, Discord, web push or webhooks. Alert delays, active hours and maintenance windows help prevent unnecessary notifications. HostTracker also provides public status pages, a REST API and an MCP server for instant checks through AI assistants and developer tools. The free plan includes 2 monitors. Paid plans start at $10/month, with a 30-day trial including 100 monitors at 1-minute checks - no credit card required.

About

RealUptime combines four hosted reliability tools in one account: Status for public status pages and incident updates; Monitor for external HTTP, TCP, DNS and heartbeat checks plus server monitoring; Errors for application error tracking; and Outages, a public directory of checks for widely used services. Monitoring checks run from multiple regions, with regional results visible so teams can distinguish location-specific failures. Monitor can collect server metrics through an agent, while alerts and incident workflows help teams respond to service issues. Errors groups application events into issues for investigation. The platform also provides a REST API, command-line interface, Terraform provider, GitHub Actions workflow and MCP server for developer workflows. Free plans are available for Status, Monitor and Errors, and public Outages checks can be viewed without an account; paid plans add usage capacity and features.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Efficient global monitoring and excellent detailed reports. I also like that notifications come to Telegram and Email.
  • Service provides effective global monitoring, detailed and comprehensive reports, and a much-improved user interface following the latest update.
  • Reliable uptime monitoring, accurately detecting site issues, including periodic downtime for international locations. Detailed reporting and timely alerts for immediate attention to any downtime.
  • Host-Tracker provides reliable real-time alerts, ensuring I’m instantly informed of any server issues. Its global monitoring capabilities allow me to see performance from various locations, and customizable notifications let me prioritize critical alerts.
  • Accurate uptime monitoring; Variety of server monitoring tools; Customizable alerts; New tools are constantly being added.

Cons

  • Some countries have few locations, have to add regions not needed yet to run automatic monitoring
  • Limited variety in pricing options. Personally, I would like to see more flexibility in tariff settings.
  • High price, which might be a drawback for those looking for budget-friendly solutions. Lack of live chat support, making it harder to address urgent questions quickly.
  • The free version has limited features, and the mobile app could benefit from a more intuitive design for ease of use.
  • Outdated site design; Slow support response times;
