About

Extra Thursday is an AI-powered inbox assistant that connects to your Gmail and Google Calendar (via OAuth) to transform email management into a fast, context-aware, streamlined workflow. It treats your inbox like a database: it can scan thousands of emails in seconds, extract key insights or open loops, surface important threads, and highlight action items, so you don’t have to manually sort, search, or triage messages. Extra Thursday also drafts professional replies (from polite follow-ups to technical responses), auto-generates follow-up emails, and lets you review/edit before sending, dramatically reducing the time you spend writing and replying. With deep-context AI reading and understanding entire conversations, the platform helps manage email overload and makes your inbox actionable, rather than overwhelming. Privacy-wise, emails and calendar data are only fetched on demand per session; Extra Thursday does not store your full inbox or use your content to train its models.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I've been a happy user of Mailbird 2 and I jumped at the chance to buy the lifetime deal. This one-time payment for endless use of their great service seemed like a bargain. Mailbird 2 has been a big help, making my email tasks easier with its simple design and strong features. But things changed with the release of Mailbird 3. This new version, although better and more promising, came with a surprise. The lifetime deal I bought for Mailbird 2 does not cover this upgrade.
  • 1. Reliability in receiving and sending email without duplicating. 2. Send Later allows review time and saves me from sending follow-up emails. 3. Unified Inbox defines by addresses by color. I like to experiment with alternatives and keep coming back to Mailbird.
  • Initially we really liked the platform because it was similar to Apple's Mail program. Initially we really liked the platform because it was similar to Apple's Mail program. Initially we really liked the platform because it was similar to Apple's Mail program.
  • It looks like an intuitive, great, flexible program - if you can use it. The problem is that if you run into any problems whatsoever, there is no meaningful tech support.

Cons

  • It feels like I'm being asked to pay again for Mailbird 3, and that's a letdown. I thought "lifetime" meant that any new versions would be included. But, it looks like I was wrong. I get that making and maintaining new software costs money. But, it's hard to be asked to pay again after buying a lifetime deal.
  • Pricing. I'd also like a way to block or delete by simply listing inbound addy.
  • There's absolutely NO service except for help articles provided on their website. There's no way to call them on the phone and just today even their email was returned by Mailbird saying it's no longer in use, but didn't provide an alternative email. The entire platform is an entire money making scam I believe.
  • If you google these people, there's a tech support phone number. But it doesn't work. The only tech support, even for paid, premium users is by email. Essentially, there is a 2 day turnaround for each question, and most of the time, the question is "answered" by an irrelevant article url. I've been working for over 3 weeks to try to port some large archived email files from Thunderbird, and have received no useful advice. I have medical practice, medicolegal, academic, and personal files for 20 years (16 GB) I can't port.
