Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • At this point, dropbox is one of the few apps I rely on regularly for both work and personal projects. Between work projects, personal files, and random documents I swear I'll organize someday, dropbox has become one of the apps I rely on the most. Most of my work involves sharing documents, project files, and folders with other people, and dropbox makes that process super easy. I like that I can save something on my laptop and access it later from my phone or another computer without having to email files to myself (which I used to do way more than I'd like to admit).
  • I’ve been using Dropbox mainly for storing and sharing documents with my team, and it works really well. The syncing across devices is smooth, and I never have to worry about losing files.
  • I like the automatic synchronization ensures that documents are always up to date on all devices. In addition, collaboration features such as document comments and shared folders facilitate teamwork and improve communication. Security is another advantage, with encryption and two-factor authentication options that protect our sensitive data.
  • Dropbox's security is a highlight. It uses encryption both in transit and at rest, which is crucial for protecting sensitive company data. The ability to set detailed file sharing permissions helps ensure that only authorized people can access critical information. In addition, integration with other productivity tools and platforms is a major benefit.
  • I use Dropbox regularly, and I find it super helpful for keeping my files safe and organized. It is easy to use, and I love how I can access my documents on any device, whether it is my phone, tablet, laptop or even through a web browser. The synchronization feature is great, and it ensures that my files are always up to date. The security is top notch too, with encryption that keeps my file very safe. I also love the fact that Dropbox integrates smoothly with other products like Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, making collaboration more convenient without switching platforms. Another great feature is the offline access, which allows me to work on files even without Internet. Also, I can restore deleted files or access previous versions, which is a lifesaver when things go wrong.

Cons

  • The biggest downside is the limited storage on the free plan. If you work with large files like videos, high-resolution images, or project archives, you'll probably run out of space much faster than expected. The paid plans solve this issue, but they can feel a bit expensive compared to some competing cloud storage services. I've also noticed that syncing large folders can occasionally be slower than I'd like, especially when uploading a lot of files at once. Another minor frustration is that sharing permissions can sometimes be confusing, particularly when collaborating with multiple people on different folders and projects. While none of these issues are dealbreakers, they can occasionally interrupt an otherwise smooth experience.
  • Free storage is quite limited compared to other cloud services
  • One aspect that can be frustrating is permissions management, which is sometimes confusing and requires detailed attention to avoid access errors.
  • While security is generally good, the lack of full control over the storage infrastructure can be a concern for some companies that handle highly sensitive information.
  • One downside of Dropbox is that the free plan only gives you 2GB of storage, which can fill up fast, if you have a lot of files. Also, the platform's search feature is not the best as it can be tricky to find files based on specific details like size or type.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • It is the security of all our data in a much more immediate way, that it is based on the cloud gives us confidence and the necessary storage to upload all our documents. It is a totally confidential and personalized system; we can create our own useful and unique workspace that allows us to customize in detail adjusting the options to our work requirements. Having access from any device has opened the doors and a million possibilities for each member of the work team to access the application and exchange or receive files properly, without any type of limitation or sending capacity. It allows us to classify the documents to maintain order and organization in all our work, separating by areas, making it much more comfortable for us to search through filters or mobilize the documents. It allows us to store data, everything we want to keep safe Citrix will do it through encryption, we know that it is 100% committed to security and that absolutely everything will be in the cloud under coverage, so if we need to store something immediately, we send it to Citrix and its protection will be assured. In Citrix ShareFile we store the entire database of our clients, we can transfer each data, organize and categorize and thanks to the security that it provides us, I know that the data of each of our clients will always be safe.
  • For our organization, Sharefile has been of complete benefit because it is perfect for making important and confidential contracts relying completely on the anti-hacking security it offers. Similarly, it has partnerships and integration with Office formats that makes it easy to synchronize and store files in the cloud to share with any employee who has access to the account.
  • Simple to manage. Simple for end my users to use. Simple for my users to use with their clients. Can layer security as deep as you want.
  • It has a good integration alliance with Office and allows us to work collaboratively with all the files we have synchronized without exception. Likewise, it is useful for sharing elements to manage confidential contracts with the security that the platform provides and avoids hacking or information leaks.
  • With Sharefile all our information stored in the cloud can be easily accessible, and we can create, in addition to our own folders for purely personal use, a file box for files that we do not need at the moment, but in the long term, and a trash, with files that eventually will be deleted.

Cons

  • I find the integration with other important platforms of which I would like to guarantee the storage of data that I contain there but I have not been able to due to its lack of integration solidity. We had billing automatically and when we wanted to make some adjustments at the time it was difficult for us to do this and we had to contact support to solve it, being able to configure it on our own would be much better and more efficient. Managing the permissions is not that comfortable either, many times we need to adapt the permissions so that several colleagues are also administrators, and it is cumbersome to add them one by one as we want. It has not been an error or nothing else has happened to us, but we receive constant notifications that the system is being updated and we do not know why, why it is so constant or if it is an error. We do believe it is important that the interface be expanded with new and better tools that give us a much broader and more solid user experience when it comes to sharing, editing, and organizing files. Sometimes we find that it does not synchronize in real time, which interferes with our work, we must update many times until new data or documents appear. I think there are a couple of important points that I truly believe that if they are improved, it can make Citrix a perfectly safe and comfortable place to store each of our important data.
  • With the daily use of the application we have observed that when you have an estimated 20GB of storage usage, the platform becomes very slow and it is difficult to process certain functions. Similarly, when transferring files that exceed a weight of 1G Sharefile has an unexpected shutdown and very rarely deletes files that were previously synced.
  • There are no cons that I have come across thus far.
  • Although its specifications clarify that it has a capacity to share large files up to 100GB, we have found that the platform becomes slow and transfers are mostly cancelled. Also, we have had problems with synchronization and deletion of less heavy files without recovery option.
  • Sharefile has its own inbox for messages, but this cannot be connected to our main mailing service, so with Sharefile we cannot manage our Outlook or Gmail mailing lists automatically, forcing us to opt for purely manual management of our content.
