Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • DocSend is a secure document sharing platform, it allows to share with password lock method. On the positive side, it's very intuitive and easy to setup. Role-based permission is also allowed to give the user-specific access permission. As a user and administrator I highly recommend this.
  • The software works well for small and slightly larger companies, but for bigger transactions or companies this falls short on several levels:
  • DocSend helps us to keep our confidential documents secure and accessible at any time. Some of its features are instant notifications, live present, real-time content, document watermarking, viewer verification, custom reporting etc. Easily integrates with Gmail, Dropbox, OneDrive and Outlook. It creates unique link for each viewer we want to track. Multiple documents can be shared at a time. Secure and reliable app.

Cons

  • DocSend is good for document sharing but the interface is slightly bad.
  • Each "Space" can only accommodate 1000 documents. This may sound like a lot, but uploading monthly statements from several bank accounts and several years can easily take up a significant amount of this. And it's not disclosed. You cant upload a "folder" you have to recreate the folder and then upload contents. If you have several folders within folders you have to recreate this structure in DocSend. While it is only $10 per user -- I am paying +$200 per month because I needed larger Space size (1000 documents). The navigation to update or add users is terrible: 1. Go to Space 2. Hit "Share" 3. Press the "..." that shows up on next screen 4. Hit "Edit Link Settings" 5. Hit "Manage" 6. Enter email, hit "Add" Also, the platform does not notify members if a document is added or updated -- so the users need to be notified after you upload or change a doc. And support is not immediate -- usually about an hour and not available on weekends.
  • Customer support are very supportive. Love the way they handle issues. No cons.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I was a Docusign customer since 2019.
  • 1- It has connectivity and integration with any type of document management platform, this helps a lot, since it is not necessary to import the document into this platform to be able to use the digital signature, just by making the corresponding integration, you will be able to use your digital signature in any document almost instantly. 2- The platform stores any number of digital signatures you want, there are no limits on the digital signatures you can store within it, which allows both you and your employees to store their digital signatures without any limit. 3- It has international regulations, which helps ensure that all the digital signatures you use in your documents are valid in any country in the world. 4- Impossible to tamper with, each of the digital signatures is impossible to tamper with by any user, which guarantees that your digital signature is totally secure in any document you sign.
  • One pro that I found in this platform and that made me stay is the ease of use, both for me and for my clients when signing, since the last thing I wanted was to confuse my clients when using these electronic signature tools, especially when it comes to business. So, from my point of view, I have opted for the best platform to make my business processes as transparent and simple as possible, so its intuitive interface design helps a lot in this process, which requires great accessibility for any type of client. Another feature that I find useful in DocuSign is the ease and convenience of being able to send documents to be signed by email and request the corresponding signatures and filling in of client data. In addition, the client can access the documents sent by both mobile phones and desktop computers, making document approval even easier. I also want to highlight the way DocuSign indicates where the user must sign and where they must fill in their data, so clients will not feel lost when making approvals or business transactions.
  • As an employee who frequently uses DocuSign for work, I can confidently say that this platform has revolutionized the way I handle document management and signatures. With its user-friendly interface and mobile app, DocuSign has made it incredibly easy for me to create, send, and track documents for signature, even while on the go. One of the things I love most about DocuSign is its versatility and range of features. With its robust set of tools, I can customize and automate my document workflows to fit my business needs perfectly. The platform offers a range of options, from templates and conditional logic to reminders and bulk sending, which make my job easier and more efficient. Additionally, with its integration capabilities, DocuSign seamlessly integrates with the other popular business apps I use, such as Salesforce, Google Workspace, Dropbox, Smartsheet, and Procore. When it comes to the security and compliance of the documents I'm handling, I have complete peace of mind with DocuSign. The platform employs a variety of measures to protect the data and identity of the signers, including encryption, authentication, audit trails, and digital certificates. Moreover, DocuSign adheres to a variety of industry standards and regulations, including GDPR, HIPAA, eIDAS, UETA, and ESIGN, which assures me that my documents are always legally valid and safe. Using DocuSign has positively impacted the efficiency and productivity of my business processes. By eliminating the need for paper, printing, scanning, mailing, and storing documents, DocuSign saves me time and money. Furthermore, the platform's automated and streamlined workflow reduces errors and delays, allowing me to close deals faster and improve customer satisfaction. The superior signing experience provided by DocuSign adds to my customers' positive experience, which is key to my business's success. DocuSign is a platform that has proven to be reliable, user-friendly, versatile, and secure. With its robust set of features and integrations, it has become an essential tool in my daily work routine. It has helped me save time and money while improving my business processes' efficiency and customer satisfaction. I would highly recommend DocuSign to anyone looking for a digital document management and signature solution.
  • The integrations that are presented with DocuSign are very solid since they can be carried out more easily since it allows integrating electronic signatures with many platforms without having to use DocuSign separately, but simply in any contract it is already included in any platform connected with DocuSign. For example, with Microsoft integration, you can add the sections where customers are going to sign directly to the documents without having to go through the whole process of uploading the document to DocuSign and then adding the fields where people are going to add their signatures or add some required information. The integration of DocuSign with Stripe has also helped me since it makes it easier for me to make sales by linking the signatures and documents with the payments made, it has also helped me to synchronize the customer data of the payments that are automatically generated in the documents to be signed or authorized to make payments through Stripe. The mobile application has been considerably improved, it is much more fluid and more so when the fields where users have to fill in the documents are added. I can also easily place myself by the signatory and I have several options to be able to fill in the fields very easily without having to add them again in each signature that I have to perform, so it seems intuitive to me that everything is done by drag and drop. Another functionality that I loved about the mobile application is the ability to scan printed documents which is practical for me because I can send documentation to sign a photograph with my smartphone and add the fields on the image where the data has to be placed. In addition, I have the possibility to send by mail or the same DocuSign application will inform clients when a document has to be reviewed and signed, similar to this I always receive the status of various documents that I have waiting for signature by a client or some document that I have to sign.

Cons

  • They cheated me out of $300.
  • The platform in general behaves excellently, it has no type of failure in its operation and the digital signature that can be implemented and inserted in any document, does not contain any type of error, I must admit that the general operation of this platform is perfect and does not have any type of failure, or at least it has not had any type of failure during use. Within my company, it has been fantastic.
  • Although I don't find many flaws in this platform, as its functions and tools have improved over time, I still can't understand why it doesn't have an automatic save when exiting a draft. It's annoying to have to go back and do what I've already done, especially when I haven't saved manually. So I would be grateful if you add that feature so I can exit a document more quickly and not have to manually save changes every time I exit. Another feature I would like to see included is the history of changes made within a document when it is prepared for the assignment of places where digital signatures will be placed. This would be beneficial since there are times when changes need to be reversed and it's easier with a history than having to do everything again. The documentation for this platform is a bit outdated. I have to wait a long time to find out how to use certain new features, since it seems that the team in charge of the documentation is a bit behind in that aspect. This is a big disadvantage, even if it's about using the API of this platform to automate processes.
  • While DocuSign is a powerful and versatile digital document management and signature platform, there are some disadvantages that must be taken into account. One of the most significant drawbacks is its pricing structure, which can be expensive for small businesses or individuals who do not need all the features or integrations that DocuSign offers. With different pricing plans based on the number of users, envelopes, and features, it can be challenging to find the right plan for your needs. The cheapest plan, which includes one user and five envelopes, costs $10 per month, while the most expensive plan, which includes unlimited envelopes and advanced features, costs $40 per month per user. Additionally, there are extra fees for enhanced plans or API access, which can further add to the overall cost. Another disadvantage of DocuSign is that it can be tricky or confusing to set up or use in some cases. For example, creating complex rules or routing for multiple signers or recipients can be challenging, and changing or correcting envelopes once they are sent or signed can be a cumbersome process. Moreover, some signers may not be familiar with DocuSign or may encounter technical issues when signing documents online, which can slow down the process and cause delays. This platform can be affected by external factors that are beyond its control or responsibility. For example, if there is a network outage or a browser compatibility issue, the platform may not work properly, which can lead to missed deadlines or lost opportunities. Moreover, it may face legal disputes or challenges from other parties who do not accept or recognize electronic signatures, which can be a significant barrier to its adoption in certain industries or countries. while DocuSign is a powerful and useful platform for digital document management and signatures, it has some drawbacks that must be taken into account. Its pricing structure can be expensive, and it can be tricky to set up or use in some cases. Additionally, external factors beyond its control or responsibility can affect its reliability and legality. Despite these limitations, DocuSign remains a top choice for many businesses and individuals looking for a secure and efficient way to handle their documents and signatures.
  • It seems that there is an internal problem with the technical support of this company because whenever I present a problem, I have to do it several times before being attended to, in addition to the fact that they do not keep track of the problems, as if it were an internal disorder where No customer information is shared about their joint tickets to submitted issues. I found it unprofessional on the part of the DocuSign team since I don't feel there is a responsibility to offer correct help and have better technical assistance. Sometimes I feel lost in certain functions and need help, but it is more than what I have found on the internet than what I have received from the technical service of this company. So, I'm not happy with the customer service I've received since I started using this platform to make contracts. It can take time to fill in fields when the document is very long, so there is no possibility of them being filled automatically with previous answers or some configuration where you have the personal data stored so that they are filled automatically. Unless I have the customer, data and link them from other platforms with that data and send the agreements with filled in fields, I will be able to make the process of filling out the forms easier. However, there are many times that this does not happen like that and even I have had to do the whole process manually, the good thing is that from the mobile application I can do it by dragging and dropping. So having a centralized database for customer management would not be bad, it also helps to link Salesforce with DocuSign which would allow the synchronization of customer information in the agreements when a document is sent for signature.
