About

DocSend from Dropbox is a secure document sharing and deal management platform that helps businesses manage, track, and share sensitive documents with control. The platform supports use cases such as mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, fundraising, board meetings, investor relations, and client portals. Users can upload documents, create virtual data rooms, manage permissions, require NDAs, and update shared files without disrupting viewers. DocSend also provides visitor analytics that show when recipients open shared links and how they engage with each document. Its security features, group permissions, dynamic watermarking, eSignature, and compliance support help teams protect confidential materials during important business processes. DocSend is designed to help companies, founders, investors, and financial teams share information confidently, understand stakeholder interest, and move deals forward more efficiently.

About

Docshark combines secure document sending, read proof, e-signatures, and data rooms into one link, so you always know a document was read before it was signed. Unlike DocuSign or DocSend, Docshark handles the entire flow in one place. Share a controlled link with a password, expiry, and view limits. Track time spent on every page. Collect signatures with OTP identity verification, 20+ field types, sequential routing, and a tamper-evident audit trail. For multi-file deals, Spaces gives you a data room with an NDA gate, per-file permissions, watermarks, and a built-in Q&A inbox. Mako, the built-in AI assistant, auto-suggests field placement and generates plain-language briefings for signers. Built for agencies, founders, legal, and ops teams who send contracts, proposals, and NDAs. Free plan available. No credit card required.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • DocSend is a secure document sharing platform, it allows to share with password lock method. On the positive side, it's very intuitive and easy to setup. Role-based permission is also allowed to give the user-specific access permission. As a user and administrator I highly recommend this.
  • The software works well for small and slightly larger companies, but for bigger transactions or companies this falls short on several levels:
  • DocSend helps us to keep our confidential documents secure and accessible at any time. Some of its features are instant notifications, live present, real-time content, document watermarking, viewer verification, custom reporting etc. Easily integrates with Gmail, Dropbox, OneDrive and Outlook. It creates unique link for each viewer we want to track. Multiple documents can be shared at a time. Secure and reliable app.

Cons

  • DocSend is good for document sharing but the interface is slightly bad.
  • Each "Space" can only accommodate 1000 documents. This may sound like a lot, but uploading monthly statements from several bank accounts and several years can easily take up a significant amount of this. And it's not disclosed. You cant upload a "folder" you have to recreate the folder and then upload contents. If you have several folders within folders you have to recreate this structure in DocSend. While it is only $10 per user -- I am paying +$200 per month because I needed larger Space size (1000 documents). The navigation to update or add users is terrible: 1. Go to Space 2. Hit "Share" 3. Press the "..." that shows up on next screen 4. Hit "Edit Link Settings" 5. Hit "Manage" 6. Enter email, hit "Add" Also, the platform does not notify members if a document is added or updated -- so the users need to be notified after you upload or change a doc. And support is not immediate -- usually about an hour and not available on weekends.
  • Customer support are very supportive. Love the way they handle issues. No cons.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I’ve been using Docshark for a few weeks, and it’s been a solid tool for sending and signing important documents. What stands out is that it combines secure sharing, read proof, and e-signatures in one workflow, so I get much better visibility than with standard e-sign tools.
  • I started using Docshark right when it launched last week and it already feels like a tool that has been refined for years, the interface is super clean, the AI features actually save you real time and getting contracts sorted out went from a headache to something I barely think about now, our whole team got comfortable with it really fast

Cons

  • Some guides feel a bit high-level, especially when you want deeper workflow examples or more advanced implementation detail.
  • Would love to see third-party integrations added
