Academic search integrated. Youtube only search integrated. Reddit only search integrated. Really good for getting any kind of information summarized or in any other text format, with all sources for you to check if you question the answers. Better for personal use then ChatGPT. Cons Prone to factual errors. I have found this on numerous occasions by following up on the citations provided. An example: What were Dodi Fayed’s injuries? Answer says that he had a rarely-seen tear in a pulmonary vein. Checking the source cited, it is stated clearly that this was the injury sustained by Princess Diana, NOT her companion. A simple, obvious factual error like this makes me unwilling to rely on Perplexity yet. Probably uses your data on searches for their training. Problems with the usage between online search and just talking with a specific LLM on a single thread (search). They probably don't care about old users as of now, basically cuz they been giving away free PP pro these lasts months. It seems to learn what language I most often use. I would rather it gave me answers in the language as ask the question so I do not need to specify all other languages then my first.
