About

Cockpit is a web-based graphical interface for servers, intended for everyone, especially those who are new to Linux, familiar and expert admins. Thanks to Cockpit intentionally using system APIs and commands, a whole team of admins can manage a system in the way they prefer, including the command line and utilities right alongside Cockpit. See your server in a web browser and perform system tasks with a mouse. It’s easy to start containers, administer storage, configure networks, and inspect logs. Basically, you can think of Cockpit like a graphical “desktop interface”, but for individual servers. Have a favorite app or command-line tool that you use on your servers? Keep using the command line, Ansible, and your other favorite tools and add Cockpit to the mix with no issues. Cockpit uses the same system tooling you would use from the command line. You can switch back and forth between Cockpit and whatever else you like.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • The only real pro of CyberPanel is its OpenLiteSpeed integration, which can provide decent performance, but even this is overshadowed by the sheer number of issues that make the panel frustrating and unreliable.
  • - great free CPANEL - good subdomain customization - backup options -easy to use interface - easily accessible website lists

Cons

  • CyberPanel comes with a long list of cons that make it a poor choice for server management. The WordPress installer is buggy and constantly throws errors, requiring manual fixes that completely defeat the purpose of a “1-click” solution. SSL automation is unreliable, with certificates frequently failing validation and offering no helpful feedback for troubleshooting. Backups, a critical feature for any hosting panel, are inconsistent at best—restores often fail or result in incomplete data. The email management system is equally disappointing, with ineffective spam filters and a complex DKIM/DMARC setup process that feels unnecessarily difficult. Security is another major concern, as CyberPanel has known vulnerabilities and unstable configurations that make it unsafe for hosting critical data. The interface itself is clunky and outdated, often requiring users to resort to terminal commands for tasks that should be straightforward. Customer support is abysmal, with slow, generic responses that fail to address actual issues, even for those on premium plans. Adding insult to injury, their refund policy is unfair and rigid, denying refunds during their advertised trial period over trivial reasons like using a coupon code.
  • -Bad premium services - no response even if something is clearly wrong
