About

Cisco Umbrella's cloud-delivered security enables an immediate improvement in security and compliance posture. That's because DNS is at the heart of every internet connection request. Securing the DNS layer means blocking malicious domains, IP addresses, and cloud applications before a connection is ever established. More than 30,000 organizations depend upon Umbrella DNS to deliver a fast, safe, and reliable internet experience that is simple to deploy and easy to manage. A recent study by GigaOM ranked Cisco #1 in DNS-layer security, and our DNS security contributed to Miercom ranking Cisco #1 in the industry in its laboratory testing of SSE threat efficacy. When you are looking to build upon DNS-layer protection with additional user protection capabilities, including ZTNA, SWG, CASB, DLP, and more, see Cisco Secure Access. Cisco Secure Access features a single client, single manager, and single policy construct protection for multi-function internet access protection and integrated

About

Timus SASE is a cloud-delivered secure access service edge platform for organizations protecting applications and networks used by office-based, remote, and hybrid teams. It combines zero trust network access with controls for web and cloud traffic, including secure web gateway, firewall, and device-posture capabilities, managed through a central console. IT and security teams set identity- and device-aware policies for access to private resources, SaaS applications, and the internet, and use reporting tools to review activity. Endpoint connectivity is available for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices. The platform supports distributed workforces and connects users to private-network resources without exposing them directly to the public internet. It is intended for IT departments and service providers managing secure connectivity across users, locations, and devices.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • The umbrella is actually reduced in maintenance. As soon as you set up the initial arrangement, as well as the policies, it is friendly enough to do the rest. The panel allows you to check the dangers you have protected and also updates a common database of negative links and destructive web links that are updated in real time. It couldn't be less complicated to visualize and customize your defense against risks with the Cisco umbrella. Individuals can also submit their own request to the administrator for review of a website that needs to be unblocked.

Cons

  • Sometimes it can be a hit or miss with certain categories, like parked domains. However, it is straightforward to enter and manage the plan to include the exemption or report an incorrect block to Cisco. The most component interpretations are accurate. In fact, users mistyped a URL and Cisco is there to protect us from unintended attacks.
