About

Check Point SASE is a cloud-delivered Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platform that combines networking and cybersecurity capabilities into a unified solution for modern enterprises and hybrid work environments. The platform integrates Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), SD-WAN, and secure internet access to protect users, devices, applications, and data from a centralized system. Built on a global private backbone network, Check Point SASE helps organizations provide secure, low-latency connectivity for remote employees, branch offices, and distributed workforces. The platform simplifies deployment and management by consolidating networking and security operations into a single interface, reducing complexity and administrative overhead.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • The fantastic support and easy to get up and running. It was very easy to get it to work with our existing Azure networks.

Cons

  • Windows users not as happy as Mac users, but they do not want to go back to the OpenVPN solution that we used before.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • OpenDNS is great for families or individuals who want to block unsavory content on their home network and keep younger members of their family safe while online. Is it perfect? No but it’s better than nothing. They have two free options the “family shield”. You put in the dns addresses in your router and reboot machines and you’re done. The second free product is OpenDNS Family and this can be customized in what you want it to block or or not. You do have to install the DNS Updater on a computer that’s always on so it can send IP Address updates to your account and keep blocking active. I’ve used this for years and love it.

Cons

  • Sadly, some ISP’s won’t allow you to change your DNS servers and so it can’t be used. This isn’t OpenDNS’s fault but the fault of the ISP.
