Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Super low rates for international calls and SMS—much cheaper than traditional carriers or roaming. Getting a virtual number from 60+ countries is fast and simple, activates in minutes. The app is intuitive, with reliable call quality, call recording, forwarding, voicemail, and caller ID all working well. Great for staying connected globally without high fees, perfect for travelers or remote work. Frequent updates and responsive support add to the positive experience.
  • I love how quickly I can get a virtual number from 150+ countries (like USA, UK, India, Canada) activated in minutes – no hassle, instant setup. The mobile app is straightforward for managing multiple numbers, making crystal-clear international calls at super low rates (way cheaper than roaming or carriers, no hidden fees), and handling two-way SMS for OTPs, verifications, promotions, or client updates. Features like call forwarding to any device, secure call recording for important talks, custom voicemail with notifications, spam blocking, and end-to-end encryption make it reliable and private. It's perfect for keeping my personal number safe from spam/data risks while appearing local/professional to clients worldwide. No dropped calls or connectivity issues in my use, and it works seamlessly on phone or laptop over Wi-Fi/data.
  • Intuitive Interface: The app is exceptionally user-friendly, making it easy to navigate through features and manage various subscriptions. Seamless Activation: Installation and activation were quick and hassle-free, which allowed me to start using the service immediately. Exceptional Support: The customer service team is very responsive and helpful, providing clear answers whenever I had questions about my subscriptions.
  • Quick, easy setup with intuitive interface Affordable international calling rates Fast activation of virtual numbers Clear and stable call quality

Cons

  • Occasional minor delays in SMS delivery during peak times. The app is mobile-focused, so desktop/web management feels limited if you prefer a full browser interface.
  • The service is mostly mobile app-focused, so if you prefer a full desktop/web dashboard for heavy management, it feels a bit limited. Pricing starts low (e.g., numbers from ~$1.99/month), but adding several numbers or high-volume international calls/SMS can add up moderately over time. Support is available and helpful, but response times can vary during peak hours for non-urgent issues.
  • Honestly, my experience has been wonderful so far. I haven't encountered any technical glitches or service interruptions that would qualify as a negative.
  • Billing and usage details could be more comprehensive Occasional delays when refreshing usage data

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I have used GS Wave for over 3 years, Overall GS Wave is about as good as a softphone app can get. It behaves similarly to the native dialer app in any cell phone. It does have some issues that I note below. Overall however, it works brilliantly with external bluetooth systems. It has a good, intuitive user interface and generally is easy to use, provides great sound quality, etc.

Cons

  • Unfortunately, the app has a serious and random bug that affects operation on some phones regardless of make/model or OS. For some unknown reason, on some smartphones, when the app is configured to register with an IPv4 address and the phone transitions from a WiFi connection to the mobile carrier network that has IPv4 and IPv6 addresses - the app will attempt to register with the PBX using the configured IPv4 address but will then only provide the PBX with IPv6 contact info which the PBX rightfully rejects. The only way around this that I have found is to setup a VPN on my phone to my company's network, exit the GS Wave app and then restart it. Then it registers correctly using the configured IPv4 address and provides only IPv4 contact info in the registration request which is accepted by the PBX. I find this bug particularly odd in that if the phone is operating on a WiFi network with both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses - the app always registers correctly using just the configured IPv4 info. The bug is random in that you can install the app on your cell phone and it will work perfectly - transitioning between WiFi and cell networks both having IPv4 and IPv6 addresses and it will properly register with just IPv4 info. However, if you make a change to the account settings - randomly the bug will be triggered and once triggered you can never fix it again! You can totally delete the app and reinstall it - the bug will persist. You can even move from one cellphone to another and the bug will persist. This is likely due to the back configs that are saved in the cloud. The problem is maddening because the GS Wave softphone is superior in so many ways to every other softphone available and yet - Grandstream will simply not look into fixing this bug!!
