About

Tools for collaborative, consistent curriculum, instruction and assessment. BuildYourOwnCurriculum (BYOC) uses technology to bring the teaching—and learning—experience into an evolving documented process that is easy to use, accessible anywhere, and aligned district-wide. BYOC was founded on a belief that curriculum must be of value to teachers. With BYOC, teachers don’t have to recreate curriculum from scratch each year. By simply entering curriculum once, then continuously assessing and improving, educators can save time on curriculum management, enter a process of continuous improvement, and shift focus to their true passion—teaching. BYOC’s user-friendly online framework allows you to house living, viable district curriculum in a format that guarantees ongoing and systematic growth across your district. Define consistent learning targets to ensure all students experience the same path of curriculum with smooth grade-to-grade and course-to-course transitions.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Easy to use , thorough, kids actually learn and don’t minds doing the work. Lessons and work sheets are provided. Can use as core curriculum and then outsource more supplementary work for the lesson provided.

Cons

  • Same sex books for kindergarten . I understand this is secular learning but it also says caters to all. I’m just assuming that, a lot of people homeschool to stay away from books like this especially having to explain this to a kindergartner. It should be up to me when I teach my kids about these things not just thrown in there randomly by a stranger. Does not align with my family values. Also some of the videos don’t load or are erased.
