Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Easy to start You don’t need to be a tech genius. Setting up your store is pretty straightforward — Shopify walks you through the basics. All-in-one Hosting, checkout, payments, themes, apps — it’s all under one roof. You don’t have to piece together a bunch of separate tools if you don’t want to. Lots of apps Need reviews, fancy layouts, email marketing, AI helpers, upsells, subscriptions? There’s probably an app for it. You just install and go. Decent support 24/7 chat and email support is a lifesaver, especially when something weird happens at 2 AM. Professional themes Even the free ones look legit — clean, modern, and mobile-friendly.
  • Very intuitive interface, fast setup, and a rich app marketplace that covers almost every e-commerce need. Stable and secure for daily operations.
  • Shopify is known for being a user-friendly platform that is easy to navigate, with a range of customizable features (including of Shipturtle specifically) and templates.
  • Shopify is easy to use and intuitive, with a drag-and-drop interface and customizable templates and themes. It is reliable and secure, using enterprise-grade encryption and technology to protect merchant data and ensure the smooth running of their online stores. Support for multiple sales channels, including web, mobile, social, marketplaces, physical locations, and pop-up stores, is possible, allowing merchants to reach more customers and increase sales. It provides 24/7 customer service via phone, email, chat, and social media, as well as a community forum and help center with guides and tutorials. Also, flexible pricing plans that suit different budgets and needs. It has a great store of apps that can extend the functionality of an online store, such as adding new features, improving SEO, optimizing conversions, or automating tasks. It supports over 100 payment options, including credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, and more. It also has its own payment gateway, Shopify Payments, which eliminates transaction fees and integrates with other Shopify features.
  • The navigation interface when navigating through the shopping is very intuitive and easy to understand, improving the experience of customers who use it. The implementation and configuration is quite simple to do and in a few moments everything is already perfectly structured. Managing customer orders is much simpler from Shopify, plus it has helped increase the flow of sales in our company.

Cons

  • Can get pricey The monthly plan + apps + transaction fees add up fast. A “simple” store can suddenly feel expensive once you add features. App dependency A lot of features Shopify doesn’t do out of the box. So you end up needing apps — and many of them cost extra. Learning curve Still easier than some platforms, but there’s stuff to learn — tax settings, shipping rules, SEO, etc. Checkout isn’t super customizable Unless you’re on the top-tier plan or using Shopify Plus, you can’t tweak the checkout too much. some times store tend to get messy and themes import issues
  • Monthly costs increase as you add apps, and deep customizations can be limited without technical skills.
  • Shopify is primarily designed for physical products, so users looking to sell digital products or services may need to look elsewhere.
  • Shopify charges transaction fees on every sale made through its platform, unless the merchant uses Shopify Payments. This can be a disadvantage for companies with tight profit margins or high sales volume. It has limited customization options for its templates and themes, which may not be suitable for some merchants who want more control over the appearance of their online store. Some features may also require coding skills or the use of third-party applications. The learning curve is steep for some traders who may find the platform's features and functionality overwhelming or confusing. It can take some time and effort to set up and run an online store effectively. You have additional costs for some advanced features that are not included in their monthly plans, such as abandoned cart recovery or multi-currency support. Merchants may also be required to pay for third-party applications or services to improve the performance or functionality of their online store. It is a hosted platform, which means that merchants do not fully own or control their online store. This may result in potential limitations on customization or integration with other systems or platforms. It may also raise data ownership or security concerns.
  • It is missing that there is no possibility to unlock or access new promotions through subscriptions to generate better reach among active users. The inventory tool sometimes does not work the way we expect, forcing us to use third-party tools because inventory management is one of the most important tasks in our company. Prices should be a little more structured according to usage and usability.
