About

PatternMaker is the primary program and is used to create patterns. Once patterns are created they can be exported into digital files that can be shared like any file on the Internet. There are different levels — versions — of PatternMaker. MacroGen is the program that creates the exported files. The exported files are called macros. The macros have the ability to accept different measurements so the pattern can be adjusted to fit. Macros are executed by PatternMaker. (Many computer programs have macros that exist in a digital, sharable format. For example, Microsoft Word and Excel have the ability to export macros for sharing.) So, to run a macro you need the PatternMaker program. Collection Creator combines many different patterns that are in macro form into a collection. A collection might be a group of summer dresses.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • The ease of use, the latest update, the SUPER FRIENDLY customer service, the VARIOUS stitches. NOT ONE SINGLE software out there has as many choices: brick, loom, medallion, R.A.W. etc etc. Have a look! You will NOT be disappointed.

Cons

  • I must admit I'm a bit of a perfectionist. So I would like the graph to be "clearer" or, more precise. OVERALL, LUV - LUV - LUV

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • PatternMaker is a great CAD software. It has several levels that allows you to opt in at your budget and build up as you go. I started with professional studio and now use the grading studio. I also design garment patterns with Macrogen by PatternMaker. Its versatile and flexible for you. You can design from the scratch or work from predesigned templates.

Cons

  • I would like a few more features added like an auto save. Sometimes I lose my work.
