About
JOPAZ optimizes mainframe capacity by reclaiming processing resources with smart COBOL workload distribution. It helps enterprises free up capacity to do more on IBM Z, where COBOL applications backed by the resilience, security, and scalability of the platform continue to run mission-critical operations with business logic unique to the organization. When growing workloads make general processor capacity scarce, JOPAZ redistributes application workload to the IBM z Integrated Information Processor, or zIIP, by compiling COBOL source code into Java bytecode. This shifts high-utilization workloads to zIIP specialty engines, freeing valuable general processor capacity, improving efficiency, increasing performance, and creating space for strategic projects without changing a line of code. JOPAZ lets teams keep their COBOL, reduce COBOL workload on the general processor, avoid data migration, and maintain source code with familiar development tools.
