About

AtomGit is an open source code hosting and collaborative development platform that brings code hosting, project management, team collaboration, CI/CD, and open source operations into one environment. Developers can create public or private repositories, manage branches and releases, review code through pull requests, track issues and tasks, edit files online, configure permissions, and view project statistics. Its native AtomGit Action automation engine follows a Pipeline as Code approach, allowing teams to define build, test, and deployment workflows in YAML, store them alongside application code, and trigger them from events such as pushes, pull requests, or comments. Reusable workflows, artifacts, dependency caching, encrypted secrets, concurrency controls, and hosted or self-hosted runners support more advanced delivery pipelines. It also includes WebIDE capabilities for browser-based development without a local environment and supports code, model, and dataset.

About

Share code, track work, and ship software using integrated software delivery tools, hosted on premisis. Use all the Azure DevOps services or just the ones you need to complement your existing workflows. Previously known as Team Foundation Server (TFS), Azure DevOps Server is a set of collaborative software development tools, hosted on-premises. Azure DevOps Server integrates with your existing IDE or editor, enabling your cross-functional team to work effectively on projects of all sizes. Azure DevOps Server is source code management software, and includes features such as access Controls/Permissions, bug tracking, build automation, change management, code review, collaboration, continuous integration, and version control.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Added Git support long time ago. Can now support deployment on Linux hosts. Offer an online SaaS alternative.
  • Azure DevOps Server is a comprehensive deployment package which helps in on-premises or cloud deployments. It has a great interface and multiple analytics tools. Azure DevOps Server also supports integration with third party tools.

Cons

  • Took too much time to add pipelines as code and the syntax used is horrible. Everything is wrapped around the team concept instead of product. Developers working on multiple solutions often have to search for something in multiple teams. Git support is an afterthought. The UI to access git repos is not optimised for finding what we need. Working on a complex solution is nearly impossible. User-stories, documentation, code, pipelines, etc. are contained in the same team. The software doesn't support collaboration between multiple teams in the same product, except for forks / pull requests. The website support only a single language. The integrated wiki is very limited and cannot publish public pages. The UX is a total mess. It is clear the tool is designed by developers for their own purpose. The pull-requests support is very limited. The CI/CD agents doesn't support the docker-in-docker approach, so we can't have a clean build environment on each build. Has a lot of overlapping features with a better product from the same company (GitHub).
  • No cons, it works really well and is quite improved from the previous version.
