About

Anchor Browser is a cloud-hosted platform designed to enable AI agents to interact with the web in a human-like manner. It provides secure, authenticated environments where AI can navigate web pages, submit forms, and extract data in real time, facilitating the automation of web-based tasks that lack traditional APIs. The platform offers features such as full browser isolation, seamless VPN integration, and support for identity providers like Okta and Azure AD. Additionally, it includes automated CAPTCHA resolution, advanced anti-bot detection bypass, and custom session fingerprinting to ensure undetectable browser behavior. Anchor Browser is designed for scalability, allowing unlimited concurrent browsers, session durations, and deployment in any geo-location. It provides developers with full control over browsers through CDP, Playwright, APIs, or direct integration with agent frameworks, supporting any programming language.

About

bmux is a desktop web browser for developers, researchers, and people working alongside browser agents. It arranges tabs in split panes and named sessions within one window, while separate profiles isolate logins and browser storage. Keyboard-focused tools include shortcuts, Vim-style navigation, click hints, and floating reference panes. Its command-line interface can control a selected pane to navigate pages, inspect the DOM, click, type, and take screenshots; sessions can continue in the background and be attached for review. Mobile viewport presets and per-profile proxy settings support browser automation workflows. bmux is free and open source under GPLv3. Desktop editions are listed for macOS and Windows, with Linux available as a portable host for remote browser access. It is an early preview and does not require tmux.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Anchor Browser provides a powerful and scalable solution for AI-driven web automation. It allows AI agents to control real web browsers, enabling interaction with websites just like a human user. The infrastructure is designed for high availability, with isolated browser instances and built-in security features like VPN support and CAPTCHA solving. Unlike OpenAI’s CUA, it offers flexibility by allowing users to integrate different language models, including OpenAI, Claude, or local models. The ability to attach to real user sessions is a standout feature, making

Cons

  • Since it operates full browser instances, resource usage can be higher compared to headless API-based automation. Some advanced capabilities, like bypassing strict bot protections, may require tuning. While Anchor Browser is developer-friendly, non-technical users may find setup and customization challenging without proper guidance. The pricing model, while flexible, depends on both browser usage and AI steps, which could add up in high-volume deployments.
