About

AWS Deadline Cloud is a fully managed service that simplifies render management for teams creating computer-generated 2D/3D graphics and visual effects for films, TV shows, commercials, games, and industrial design. With Deadline Cloud, you can set up, deploy, and scale rendering projects in minutes, so you can improve the efficiency of your rendering pipelines and take on more projects. Get started quickly, run more projects in parallel, and improve cost control. Deadline Cloud makes it easier to build a render farm without the need to manage backend infrastructure, with a simplified setup that reduces deployment from months to minutes. Built-in cost management capabilities, including budget setting and usage tracking on a project-by-project basis, give you the ability to manage rendering costs and keep budgets on track. With usage-based licensing and pay-as-you-go pricing, you pay only for the resources you consume.

About

ProRender Cloud is a cloud GPU render farm for Blender, letting 3D artists and production teams send scenes to remote GPU workers rather than manage rendering hardware themselves. Its Blender add-on packages the Blender project and its linked assets, uploads the job, and lets users select a pool and follow render progress; users can also manage jobs through the cloud dashboard. The service offers Lowpool with RTX 4090 GPUs, Highpool with RTX 5090 GPUs, and Maxpool with RTX PRO 6000 GPUs for Blender Cycles work. Rendering tasks are distributed across cloud GPU workers, and completed image sequences, including PNG or OpenEXR frames, are available to download through the account. Billing is based on rendering time and GPU nodes used, with per-second charges and pool-level price limits. ProRender Cloud is aimed at independent artists, freelancers, animation studios, agencies, and other teams rendering Blender projects, including client productions.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Wait and Save feature: Up to 95% cost savings compared to on-demand pricing Perfect for non-time-critical workloads No upfront commitment: pay only for what you use

Cons

  • Not so perfect for time-critical workloads Deadline Cloud is great for standard workloads, but teams with deeply customized onprem render pipelines may find migration effort high, especially when relying on unusual plugins, scripts, or legacy toolchains.
