Screen2ipcam 2.0.1 — Windows
Turn any Windows PC screen into a real ONVIF Profile S / RTSP IP camera — now with sound. Your NVR, DVR or VMS discovers it and records it exactly like a physical camera. No capture card, no HDMI encoder, no cloud service.

Which file do I download?

| Screen2ipcam_Setup_2.0.1_x64.exe | Modern PCs — Windows 64-bit. Start here. |
| Screen2ipcam_Setup_2.0.1_x86.exe | Older, embedded or point-of-sale machines — Windows 32-bit |

Running the 64-bit setup on a 32-bit Windows gives error 216. Use the x86 file instead.
New in 2.0.1
- Audio — streams the PC's own sound with the video using the standard G.711 codec, so the recorder stores sound and picture together. Off by default, and it only runs while somebody is watching.
- On-screen extras — draw the camera name and the date & time on the picture, each with its own corner, colour, size and opacity.
- Privacy alert — an optional badge on the streaming PC's own screen while a viewer is connected.
- Connected devices — see which recorders are pulling the stream right now, their addresses, and for how long.
- Wider recorder compatibility — the sub (SD) stream now works on every recorder we tested.
- Fixed the picture being cut off at Windows display scaling of 125% or 150%.
- The picture now follows a change of screen resolution automatically while streaming.
- Separate Save and Apply buttons, and a confirmation before the camera is closed.
Requirements
- Windows 7 SP1 → Windows 11, 32-bit and 64-bit (including IoT / Embedded / POSReady)
- Nothing else to install — no .NET, no Java, no Visual C++ redistributable, no codec pack
- About 60 MB RAM and ~2% of one CPU core while streaming
- The recorder must be on the same network as the PC
Getting it into your recorder
- Run the setup. The Windows firewall rule is added automatically.
- On the recorder: Add camera → ONVIF → Search, or enter it by hand:
the PC's IP address, port 8000, user
admin, passwordadmin. - Or use the RTSP address directly:
- Main stream
rtsp://<IP>:554/screenlive - Sub stream
rtsp://<IP>:554/screensub
Change the default password from the Users tab before using it on a real site.
If you get picture but no sound
On the recorder set audio compression to G.711Mu (also written G.711 µ-law) and audio source to Local. G.711A, PCM and AAC will not play. And if the channel was added to the recorder before you switched audio on, remove the channel and add it again — the recorder reads the camera's capabilities once, when the channel is created. This is the most common cause of silent audio.
Licensing
A fully functional 14-day trial, no credit card. After that a one-time US$20 lifetime licence — no subscription and no yearly renewal. One licence activates one PC and is tied to that computer's hardware, so reinstalling Windows or swapping the drive does not break it. Activation is entirely offline; the program never contacts a licence server.

A note on antivirus warnings
The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may call the publisher
unknown, and a small number of scanners may raise a machine-learning guess such as
Wacatac!ml. These are false positives. The same application, byte for byte, is published on
the Microsoft Store signed by Microsoft:

If a scanner flags a build, we report it to the vendor with the hashes above. Please download only from this page or from https://magicweb.win — copies from anywhere else may be modified.
