This package is a single-channel software-defined receiver for spectroscopy that takes data from SDRPlay receivers. Those are heterodyning receivers covering frequencies from near zero to about 1.7 GHz with up to 8 MHz analog bandwidth in a complex-valued data stream. The central program, `spec`, acquires samples from a receiver, spectrally analyzes them, and saves the spectra to two-axis FITS files. The codes run on linux on .Net and are written in C# and Visual Basic.Net. There is a file viewer, fitsview, written in python. rsp2fits evolved from SDRPlay2RSS, developed in 2015, to its current simpler form retaining only FITS-file data sink.
