Restic Browser is a free, open-source desktop application designed for browsing and restoring existing Restic backup repositories. It provides a graphical alternative to command-line operations for locating and recovering backed-up files. Users can connect to local or remote repositories and inspect their stored snapshots. The application displays files and folders within individual backups, making it easier to find specific content. Selected files can be restored to a chosen directory or exported as ZIP archives. Users can also preview files by opening temporary copies through their default applications. Built with Tauri, Restic Browser supports keyboard navigation and configurable repository authentication. Available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, it focuses on recovery rather than creating new backups.
