@jamesmaddison12: Get lost with your spyware. Ontopic: Whilst µtorrent got bloated like Azureus in the past (Websmasters became cashw****s), i was looking for a good client. I have to admit: I use qBittorrent, since it's available for Windows & doing a post really late. But if you're searching for a powerful replacement of your torrent-application: Get this masterpiece.

Awesome BT client. It's just works fine on both Fedora 17 and Windows 7 and I like it very much. Really best cross-platform alternative for uTorrent. Nice job, guys. Keep it up!

qBitorrent is in my opinion the best torrent client out there. It has no ads, it has amazing performance (take advantage of all your bandwidth if you want), it is updated regularly, it is open source and it has a very active community. It is also very stable!

Great lightweight torrent client

The lightweight small app like Transmission, but with a feature set and configurability of the old Azureus. Manages downloads faster than any other current Mac software (probably because it has the tweakability that other apps don't)...recommended. BTW: Just tested this using the SAME torrent with a healthy 1541 seeds and Transmission managed it in 4min. Using qBittorrent I got a higher download speed (all settings and parameters the same, same port forwarding through firewall, same little snitch rules etc etc) and as a result managed it in 3min - which is appreciable.

So far, I'm impressed. I watched a youtube video on setting up & using qBittorent before installing. It was worth it as I navigated the prerequisite Python installation as well as learning how to go about linking my torrent sources. The installation was a breeze, and within minutes I was downloading. I've noticed varying download speeds but that is contingent on many factors. Don't forget to install a good VPN app before doing anything. It's not cheap, but its worth every cent to protect yourself & your machine.
