Screen Translator is a free, open-source Android application that translates on-screen text and video dialogue without requiring root access. It is designed for games, visual novels, manga, and other applications containing foreign-language content. Its floating controls capture screen content and display translations directly over the original text. Users can choose between local and cloud-based OCR engines, including ML Kit and PaddleOCR. Translation options include online services, large language models, and downloadable offline models. The application supports automatic screen translation, selected text regions, gesture shortcuts, and configurable translation presets. Video translation generates bilingual subtitles from recognized audio on supported Android devices. Additional tools include text-to-speech, terminology dictionaries, saved translations, and batch image processing.
