OpenChrom is a tool for gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. The focus is to handle data files from different GC/MS and GC/FID systems and vendors. Its functionality and algorithms can be extended using a flexible plugin approach, based on Eclipse RCP.

Features

  • baseline detection
  • peak detection, integration and identification
  • mass spectrometric data filter (remove m/z, smooth data, ...)
  • extensibility, modularity
  • native data file import converter
  • advanced GUI

User Reviews

  • Openchrom is an amazing piece of software that lets you inspect and evaluate your data comprehensively. For me as a clinical toxicologist the handling is rather complicated since workflows that include identification of scans in extracted ion chromatograms are difficult. It's the same for tandem MS data. The GUI is a bit overcrowded, but that's due to the fact that the developers want to meet everyone's needs. Customisable perspectives would be a big improvement. There is a lot of potential, the functions are implemented, but the handling still needs improvement. The amount of features this project includes is wonderful and I hope that it will never stop evolving.
