For people that use the well-known "mumble" VOIP application on desktop LINUX environments: When your desktop LINUX upgrades from "xorg" to "Wayland", mumble will no longer be able to use any of its keyboard shortcuts (due to security restrictions of Wayland). This little application solves that problem with a single, clickable button, displayed in a small, standard-style desktop LINUX application frame. The button is labeled "PushToTalk". Left-click and hold on it to talk, release to stop talking! Requires mumble version 1.5.735 and later.

This utility was written especially for users of the free, well-known "Linux Air Combat" flight simulator . That community has been using mumble extensively, and mumble serves as the "social hub" of LINUX Air Combat. It is commonplace for LAC users to fire up mumble, connect to the mumble server at linuxaircombat.com, and chat to arrange flights, missions, and teams. This is much better done when "PushToTalk" is available from the desktop.

Features

  • Draws a "Push-To-Talk" button on your desktop, in a single, normal application frame.
  • Left-click and HOLD to speak through mumble in "Push to Talk" style.
  • Release when you're done speaking. Mumble returns to "Listen" mode.
