MinsOS — One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+
Samsung stopped these tablets at Android 13. MinsOS runs a Galaxy Tab S9+ (SM-X810) One UI 8.5 system on each tablet's own vendor partition, with a 4.19 kernel built from source.
Start with the install guide, and read your own device's page before you flash. This folder is only the files.
Which folder is mine
Check Settings → About tablet → Model number. The marketing name is not enough: the 11-inch and 12.4-inch are different builds, and so are the Wi-Fi and cellular versions of each.

Not supported: SM-T878U and SM-T978U (the US Snapdragon models). They have no OEM unlock toggle, so the bootloader cannot be unlocked at all. Nothing here will install on them.
Flashing the wrong build does not boot. Each zip checks the device it is installing on and refuses a mismatch, but do not rely on that as your only check.
Current release: v1.2.2 (One UI 8.5)
Each device folder holds its own zip plus a .sha256 beside it. Verify before you flash — a
truncated 6 GB download sideloads for twenty minutes and then fails:
sha256sum -c MinsOS_v1.2.2_20261019_<codename>.zip.sha256
How much of this has run on real hardware, per model:

The release build runs on the maintainer's own T970 |

Owner reports. Several owners run 8.5 on a T870 and report bugs from it, and the v1.2.0 side-key fingerprint screens are confirmed on one. Self-identified, mostly without logs |

Owner reports for the T976B (mobile data, with 5G confirmed on the v1.2.0 parts), the T976N (v1.1.3 runs, with 5G data and calls on SKT) and the T975 (runs 8.5). None yet for the T975N |

Owner reports on both models. v1.1.2 runs on a T875 (restart and boot animation confirmed). On a T875N mobile data works, and LG U+ calls are confirmed on the v1.2.0 parts. Calls on other Korean carriers are not confirmed yet |
Only the T970 is verified here. The other three codenames are built from the same tree and pass the same gates, which means the same code went in, not that it comes up on your tablet; what the table says about them is what owners reported. If you flash one, have Odin and your stock firmware ready first — and a report either way is worth more to this project than another build is.
Updating from v1.2.1: Settings → MinsOS update carries the delta (about 98 to 153 MB) and keeps
your data. From v1.2.0 or v1.1.3: the update offers the earlier deltas first (now in your
folder's older subfolder), one after another, and then v1.2.2. On v1.1.3, if it stops with "Could not
prepare the update", sideload the v1.2.2 full zip in TWRP instead; some tablets do not have room for the
v1.2.0 delta in /cache. From anything older, sideload the full zip; over a previous v1.x
install that wipes nothing.
Coming from stock? Flash the vbmeta_disabled_*.tar for your exact model, from your folder, in
Odin's AP slot first. Without it the bootloader rejects the ROM's dtbo after it is already
installed, with invalid vbmeta header.

Test builds published before a release, for owners willing to try a change that could not be checked on their model yet. You flash them at your own risk, and the release that follows replaces them. 2026-08-test-kernels holds the kernel zips and TWRP images published in August. |

Kept only so old links still lead somewhere: the gpustats restart-fix modules for v1.0.0 (the fix is in the ROM since v1.1.0, so do not flash them on a newer build) and the README of the withdrawn v0.1.0. |
Superseded ROM builds are kept in each device folder's older subfolder rather than deleted.
The zip at the top of your device folder is the one to flash.
Before you flash anything
- Unlocking the bootloader trips Knox permanently. Samsung Pay, Secure Folder and Knox-dependent work profiles stop working and cannot be brought back, on any ROM, including a return to stock.
- A first install wipes the tablet. Updating from a previous MinsOS does not.
- The ROM comes rooted. It ships the KernelSU-Next kernel and its manager together; from v1.1.3 the TWRP install can choose No root instead. Do not flash another kernel afterwards — that unpairs them and root stops working silently.
- Attestation-sensitive apps behave differently than on stock. Play Integrity's stronger verdicts fail by design.
