Meqaris

Meqaris (Meeting Equipment and Room Invitation System) is a system that allows booking meeting/conference rooms and other equipment or resources (like mobile whiteboards, projectors or conference audio/video sets) by using the same type of e-mail invitations that are used to invite participants to meetings. Especially useful in corporate environments, but can be used for anything in general, even by individual users.

Simply add "resource participants" to the recipient list (just like other attendees) of your e-mail invitation to book the resource and wait for a response.

Supports RFC 2445/5545 iCalendar attachments in e-mails
Sends e-mail replies back to the sender (RFC 2446/5546 and 2447/6047) using an SMTP/mail server
Supports CalDAV (RFC 4791)
Can pipe the response e-mail to a specified command
Supports creation, updates and cancellation of single events
Supports creation, updates and cancellation of recurring events
Supports both interval-defined and duration-defined events
Supports booking multiple resources in a single invitation
Supports numerical REQUEST-STATUS in responses for automatic processing on client side
Automatically updates its own database structures to the required version when needed
Supports time zones
E-mail replies and logs can have various verbosity levels
Has wide logging capabilities
Has a command-line interface - no need to run SQL statements
End users can continue using their current/existing e-mail clients
Portable and system-independent
