Because it is needed to get a correct/actual snapshot of the tree. Not your custom one from your imagination. Are you sure you want to print thousands of lines containing just file names and their sizes? If so - you can send me an email with constructive feature request. Or even feel free to take this GPLv3 code and do your changes by yourself :) It's Free OpenSource, baby :)
